    I realize who he had.
You realize his coach was Bill Belichick?
The [s]best[/s] cheating coach [s]in[/s] of the NFL.
He also had a dominate defense and one of the best clutch kickers of all time.

    Fixed it for you
Funny, but for the sake of the conversation, the Evil Hoodie is the best coach in the league right now.
That's only until Cowher becomes head coach of the Vikings in 2010.
You mean the same guy who was convinced Slash was his QB of the future? I might take Childress over that.
He apparently learned from his mistake and fixed it.
Jury is still out on Brad.

Kordell wasn't as bad as everyone thinks he was. I would tak Kordell over Tjack.

I think you'd take your grandmother over TJack. ;D

Well according to most of your rhetoric Singer ... Ryan Leaf has not been given a chance to prove himself. He only had 21 NFL starts. I am pretty sure he got unfairly labeled like T-Jack is after 19 starts.

ryan leaf was like a combination of Favre, Eli and Jackson.
Favres cocky attitude where he puts himself before the team, Eli's bitchiness, and Jackson's inconsistancy.

It's a lot easier to make a judgment about a top prospect who threw 14 TD's, 36 INT's, and showed no signs of potential whatsoever once hitting the NFL and was an asshole as ibp said. T-Jack is levels above that guy so it's not the same thing..
    Skol Vikings! Go Cubs!

Ryan Leaf had maturity issue's, and ran hisself out of football, it had nothing to do with his talent.

not entirely true, the fact that he sucked ensured he never got a second chance.
Teams won't take a risk on a player that is a bitch AND sucks hard.

Kevin Seifert is opening up commentary on what is the better situation: Good QB with questionable WRs, or strong supporting cast with questionable QB.

    http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcnorth/0-11-13/Have-at-it--QBs-vs--environment.html
I thought the question was a good jumping-off point for discussing the value of a quarterback relative to the tools that surround him. I suspect this debate will carry on for much of the summer in Chicago, where new quarterback Jay Cutler will be working with an unproven group of receivers. And it will also be a topic in Minnesota, where the Vikings have surrounded Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels with high-priced free agents and blue-chip draft choices.

Re: Lack of franchise QB could vanquish Vikings in 2009

We all know what Favre did with the Jets and the many disadvantages that he wouldn't have with the Vikes.

IMHO, if Favre becomes a Viking before the end of May, so all the hoopla such a decision will create can decrease before training camp, then I'm for Favre coming to the Vikes.

If he's not a Vike before June, then I'm much more comfortable going into 2009 with the QB's we have then I was in 2008.

I think TJ is clearly better at the end of 2008 than he was in 2007.
Sage is a journeyman QB that if necessary can come in and do better than Gus did.

Also, the term "franchise QB" is dumb.
Their calling Stafford and Sanchez "franchise QB's"
    WHY?
They are calling Ryan and Flaco "franchise QB's", because of their 1 year success, what if they only win 4 games this year, what are they then?

If the Vikes go 14-2 under TJ or Sage, they will be considered "franchise QB's".
So by the end of 2009 the Vikes will get a franchise QB with the Lombari trophy.
