Today we'll be taking a look at the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings are represented at SB Nation by Gonzo over at Daily Norseman...

That was one of those Bennettesque games that AD has had.the 49ers shutdown Adrian Peterson, holding him to 3 yards on 14 carries.
Of course, it didn't mean much in a 27-7 loss as Chester Taylor had 101 yards on 8 carries.

49ers 2009 opponent breakdown: Minnesota Vikings (Week 3)

The Vikings, at this point, don't have Brett Favre on the team. But by Week 3, it might all be a different story.
I can't assume anything at this point, so I will have to do this breakdown with who is currently on the team's roster.

I remember that game... the CBs from the top and bottom blitzed on dang near every play leaving the WRs completely uncovered.
TJ was never able to react fast enough or take advantage of it, Favre would eat that sort of sell out Defense alive. The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

The 9ers will be a physical game, but they will wilt after a couple qtrs, and we will win easily. Willis is a great young LBer, but there will be a big buzz about the return of EJ. Might just be a new pro bowl MLBer, as Henderson will open some eye's while making our defense even better than last year.

I think there's all too reasonable of a chance that we blow our first home game...especially if we're coming off of big margin wins on the road!
Wouldn't it just be typical Vikings fashion to get our hopes up and then swiftly dash them against the rocks!??!????
Hopefully not.
But, I think Singletary has the intensity to drive his team to play better than they are, and if we don't take them seriously, we might just lose a tough nosed, black n blue type of game in week 3.
Shit.
He was the guy who layed the dang blueprint on how to beat us....even though, the outcome was lopsided in our favor.
OUCH!!And if the Vikings do add Favre, he usually doesn't fall apart until later in the season, just like the Vikings.
Its sad cuz its true.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

I know you guys like to assume that the Favre will fix all that all by himself, but Unfortunately, that kind of pressure has been used to force the Gambler into making bad bets that pay out the A too!
Oh, I'm sure we'll see some nice YAC from BB and PH when they get the ball in their hands, likely some real nice TDs!
I'm just a little afraid about how many might go the other way.
As Vikings fans, we've seen BF beat us a ton lately, but we have had success by keeping him running and scared in the past.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!
