    Re: Kluwe's Job In Trouble?

Yeah, actually Kluwe had a pretty good season last year. I think he broke the franchise record for most punts inside the 20 (even though he probably broke the record for most punts in a year too!).

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

I think they would like to work on a backup holder either way. So that doesn't tell me that Kluwe might be loosing.

If I were Kluwe I'd be more concerned if Reyes proves really good at kickoffs. Because I have not been impressed by Longwells performance in that area.
I'm aware that I'm quoting myself here. But I thought I'd follow up on this one.

With Reyes not impressing in handling the kick off duty in the first half yesterday, so much for Kluwe loosing his job because of that.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

i like kluwe, i think he's done a nice job, especially after a good couple of years of being bad on punts with bennet and such.
saying that, i could care less just as long as these clowns dont start costing us games.
it should not be that hard to decide between punters for god sakes.
i'd like to hear more about the other position battles of more note if you know what i mean

    LMFAO, that's funny.

I guess it's not the most important battle. But it's still an important position enough that we need to get the right guy to do it.

I also think it's a lock for Kluwe.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Sean Jensen made a good point on KFAN the other day about this battle and said that during training camp he hasnt seen anyone but Kluwe being the holder for Ryan Longwell and therefore he should make the team.

Well, I think this story about the punter situation really broke the one day in camp where Bollinger took a few holds instead of Kluwe.

Longwell proved Friday night he still had a leg for field goal kicking, tying his personal best. Keuwe is the team's best punter by far, But we still are sorely lacking in the kick-off phase of the game. We are losing 10-15 yards per kickoff. That can be a lot!
Next year I'm guess Childress will be looking for a kick-off specialist who can also put as good as Kluwe.

He better be doing that now. That 10-15 yard loss per kick off quickly equates into great field position for our opponents & could cost us games.

We can't rely on the defense saving our asses & scoring 3 defensive TD's every game.
