    Karl Dunbar first to fall

    TF?

The one coach who's group was worth a shit and he is the first fired.

"This is what they wanted," Dunbar said in a phone interview with the Star Tribune. "Coach Frazier told me they wanted to go in a different direction. And for me, that's fine. As football coaches, we know we're all migrant workers and we go where the jobs are. Now, my job in Minnesota is over."

I am surprised that the ax fell on him, and that if fell so quickly. I would have thought that the D-Coord position would get solidified first, and go from there. This leads me to believe that Pagac may be around for another year, and Morris was brought in as a position coach candidate somewhere.

Jared Allen had 22 sacks, Brian Robison had a breakout season, before that he made Ray Edwards a big contract signing with Atlanta, also got the Williams Wall to gel and not allow any run yards for years.

I fail to see logic in this move unless we are moving to the 3-4 but i find that very unlikely.

If we do go 3-4, the slight good news would be that we should get more draft picks as Jared Allen will likely be gone.

    Of course, that sucks.

I am shocked he got canned. He was the only bright spot on the defensive staff. I must say he is a very classy guy by takin the high road on all of this. I wish him the best in whatever he does next!

As for the 3-4 we simply do not have the players. Kevin Williams would be moved to end more than likely. Robison would have to be moved to olb if not traded. Allen would more than likely be gone. It would not fix our secondary at all if anything expose it more.
I can only imagine that Morris is coming in as DC and wants some of his own guys.

Houston went to a 3-4 and kept Mario Willams and the 49ers switched and jept Justin Smith, who if you remember was the DE we went after initially and only got JA when Smith signed with S.F.

Both teams switched to a 3-4 this year and both went from non playoff teams to playoff teams and their defenses went way up the charts in only the forst year.

Just because GB didn't keep Kampman doesn't mean anything.

True, but I just don't think our current personnel allow us to play a 3-4, but I am not an elite football mind.

What I do know is that our current cover no one scheme is not working for us.

Did you not read his interview talking about the 3-4? He doesn't want any part of it.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

Too bad, I liked that guy seemed to be a good coach. What do we expect though...with Spielman and co. running the show. Let's see, fire one of the best coaches on the team? Check. Promote from within on a horribly underachieving team? Check. Try and fool the fans into thinking there is an actual GM power structure while keeping the status quo? Check.

    Good times ahead...
I bet you could use a cool one huh Clark...Now you're talkin Eddie...

Surprising to say the least. 3-4 D for us would suck. We do not have the LB corp to pull it off. We do not have a DT on the roster to play NG. With all the holes we need to fill, moving to a 3-4 only creates more holes. It doesn't make sense to me.
