That's one of the things I really like about the new management.
They want somebody they don't dilly-dally around.
Get the job done and sign him.
Next, move on to the next issue.

I wonder how much cap room we have after these 3 signings & who is left as a F/A at the end of the year?

It's definitly nice after been threw the McCombs era.

And for your comment Singer, that's a good point, but shouldn't the Vikes be fine for years to come, since signing players like Winfield, came with up front money?

another take on the same speil...

    K. Williams extension
    Saturday, December 23rd, 2006
    by Kevin Seifert

DT Kevin Williams is the latest Vikings player to receive a contract extension. Williams agreed in principle to a seven-year contract that will pay him up to $50 million, including $16 million in bonuses.

Williams would have been a free agent after the 2007 season, but the Vikings now will avoid the risk of having him either test the market at that point or face being tagged a franchise player.

Williams was named to his second Pro Bowl earlier this week. He is one of six veterans to get their contracts extended since the end of the preseason.

If I would have known, I'd have looked it up myself.

    Re: K. Williams contract extension

If you know the numbers and the details of the contracts that have been signed here is a list of the caps from March 10, 2006.
I know, not that helpful...but better than pulling something out of thin air.

I agree with what many others have said...let's try to keep the D together as much as possible.
They were very successful this season and if we can get an offense together...Hello playoffs!!!

It IS good to see that we are not waiting until camp to start signing extensions, etc.

I'm glad to see that we are treating K-Will properly by locking him up one less thing to worry about down the road.
