There are other players on the team.
    It's not the Minnesota Peterson's.
I hate to say it but he needs a game or two
like the 49er game last year to get people to realize he's not all that.
    Crotch Sniffers are annoying.

Everybody was after Moss and looked at him the same way and thought he was god.
Now he he's gone and Peterson will be too, if it's not to another team it will be with the team if they move.

One player won't win us a Super Bowl
    Hero Worship?
Well, I suppose in some cases it may seem so.
But the truth is that the offense was completely anemic prior to Peterson's arrival.
Furthermore, the ONLY excitement that offense has generated has been because of Peterson.
So, while there are other players on the Offense, we don't see any of them step up with any kind of regularity except Chester and Adrian - and believe me, Chester is a huge fan favorite right now, much like Moe Williams used to be.

As far as the rest of the team goes, have you missed the people gushing on about the Williams boys, Allen, Winfield, or Henderson?
No one takes anything away from the Defensive players.

As for Moss, he was - and still is - one of the best receivers in the NFL.
He was the driving force behind our offense when he was here, and the proof of that lies in the fact that once he was traded that offense fell apart.

But, you're right, one man cannot win a superbowl.
But one man CAN galvanize a team.
One man CAN be the driving force that propels 10 other men to perform above their abilities.
And, in our case, one man IS the only reason the offense is even remotely respected....and that man is Adrian Peterson.

On the note of Chiller losing the team....I'm glad Peterson had the passion and confidence to ask for the ball on 4th and 1.
I'm disappointed with the fumble, but he only has 4 all year.
I don't think Chiller is in danger of losing the team for listening to his players from time to time....I think he's in danger of losing his team because he can game plan worth a spit.

Everyone forgets that we were loosign this game. Out Defense was playing inspiring ball but had they scored a TD and run time off the due to the drive, the game would have been over.
I rather go for it, fail and give them a smaller field and less tiem off the clock to score 2 time to come back. we had less than 9 mins remaining in the game.

    I'm with you.
I have no problem with AD lobbying his case, he has a lot of confidence in himself and he should.
You want that guy thinking he is invincible, just don't let him think he is running things.
If he did indeed convince Childress to go for it with his plea, then I'm disappointed in Childress as the smart move was to punt the ball.
Their offense was doing absolutely nothing, why give them a sure field goal?
Pin them back and play the game.

What ever happened to Mr. Conservative Childress anyways.

    Not a bad idea though badlands...Minnesota Peterson's.

Re: JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY

there is no excuse to me that will make any sense into how childress handled the situation.
i didn't mind him going for it, but using a timeout, then challenging, having his punt team out there, and then peterson talking him into going for it.
thats a situation where you should know exactly what you are gonna do if you didn't pick it up on 3rd down and probably have your play set for what its gonna be, instead we lose 2 timeouts and run the creative play of peterson up the middle.
the handling of that play could have easily cost us the game.
not so much the decision, but the execution of going with that decision.
but we'll forget it and just wait for a loss becuz of that for it to matter.

Childress should have given the ball to AD on 3d down.
Chet is a good back but
    he is no Adrian Peterson.

Re: JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY

As Joey in Friends once said, "This is a moo point."

Peterson didn't get the first down and he fumbled.

The coach made the wrong decision IMHO, and in hindsight, we know he did.

Chilly is a lame duck coach, time will tell.

Chilly got lucky and we won in the end.

Peterson redeemed his fumble with a game winning TD at the end.

Re: Just shut up and play

I love how Adrian Peterson challenged the punt call on 4th and 1. It's leadership. Peterson is maturing into a team leader, not just the star player.

Peterson's fumble was meaningless in the sense that the Packers would have got the ball at that spot anyway.

Peterson didn't live up to his promise right away, but in the end, he got it done. Childress did the absolute right thing in trusting his star player, and then continuing to give him the ball, play after play.
