Booty had 3 losses as a starter all to top 10 ranked teams.
He also won both Rose Bowls and was offensive MVP in both.

    His overall record was 20-3.

As I simply stated before, I expected more based on what I saw from him in college.
    I'm talking about this game.

You confused me with the 2005 stuff above
Booty had a bad game, so what, what QB hasn't?

If you judge a QB by one point loss to a conference rival, then I hope Favre wins doesn't lose by one point to GB because in your eyes he would be considered a hack and that it's the rest of the team that's carrying him.
    We're going around in circles.
But my basic point is this:
the talent-level disparities in college football are huge when compared to the NFL.
USC has more talent on their squad than probably only 5 or 6 other teams in NCAA Division I football - and has ever since Pete Carroll took over.
His ability to recruit tons of talented players (whether that be on the up-and-up or not) has made USC into one of the very elite programs in college football.

So - given that level of talent (which I believe is not in dispute) - there's no freaking way that USC should lose to Stanford at home.
    Ever.
And Booty's performance in that game (4 INTs) is the absolute direct reason they lost.
Hell - I remember watching that game.
    Stinkaroo.

If the Vikings lost at home to Detroit by 1-point after Favre threw 4 picks, then I would be on his ass just like I am Booty's.
And the talent difference between the Vikings and Detroit is minimal when compared to that of USC vs. Stanford.

I still maintain that Booty had a mediocre college career based upon WHO he played for and WHAT he did with that team.
His horrid play in the NFL and subsequent practice squad follies back that up, to me.

    =Z=
I agree ... I think Booty's career when compared to those who came before him was almost laughable.

USC is built to dominate ... I would venture to say you were being generous ... there are only 2 or 3 schools MAX that have the talent USC has on a yearly basis and Booty could not win the big games.

Talk about Rose Bowls as big games all you want ... but he was playing against the top team from the Big 10 ... a game that USC would likely win with Bugs Bunny at QB.

His stats as a senior (23 TDs and 10 INTs with 2,300 yards) were mediocre at best. That loss to Stanford was not against a top 10 team by the way ... it was an UNRANKED crappy ass Stanford teams and it ruined USC's national title hopes. He was awful that game and was AT HOME.

Good college quarterbacks absolutely DO NOT have games like that against bad opponents. Ever see Leinart, Palmer, Young, Sanchez, Bradford do that against a BAD opponent AT HOME?
EDIT: On top of that ... the claim that he lost only to top 10 teams is completely inaccurate. All three of his losses were to unranked opponents I believe (Oregon State and UCLA and then Stanford)

    2 or 3 MAX?
    Not so, homeskillet.
There are three teams in the SEC alone that are as talented as USC.

    After Florida and Alabama who?
    LSU?
On levels of pure talent, I'd say the top-5 are probably Florida, Alabama, USC, Texas and....well....I'm having a hard time coming up with a 5th.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Oklahoma every 4 years or so tends to rise to the top talentwise too.
    AP, Loadholdt, etc?

    It's all about ONE game?
Going 20-3 with a 140.5 rating mean nothing.

So you're all right, Booty was a HORRID College QB and was carried by all other players.
Losing by 1 point to a 5-7 team at home proves he sucked big time that's why he was drafted into the NFL!
He should be serving McD's hamburgers with his tiny hands.

I conceed to your overwhelming illogical bias.

'Bama, LSU, and Florida from the SEC.
Georgia and Auburn rise up occasionally, and the Vols have received a huge influx of talent and will probably challenge soon as well.

The Longhorns are as talented as USC, and have been.
Oklahoma is typically as talented as well.

As much as I prefer the Ducks to the USC Faggots, you know that shit aint gonna happen.
USC only drops the games they should win, except when Vince Young melted their faces on the big stage.

Well no ... he clearly is a better QB than say you or me ... but he does not have CLOSE to the chops to cut it in the NFL, which is why he will NEVER start an NFL game.

And sure ... he was a good college QB ... but definitely not great.

I don't know what your love for Booty is. He simply was not a great college QB and will NEVER be an NFL QB ... both of those statements are pretty much fact.
