    Re: Joe Webb: If Michael Vick is a 10, I'm a 5

Joe Webb's a 10 on Tarvris' scale, and what does that make T-Jack?

Tarvaris is a one on everyones scale. Even his own.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

I think he's closer to a 7. He just needs to work on his passing, and maybe if the O-Line didn't play like shit It would make things a lot easier.

He is so raw, hard to tell if he is a 3, a 5 or a 7?

MV made plays from the start, a spark on the field. Is Webb a natural athlete on the field or does he need to be taught football skills? Have we see any brilliance yet? Apparently from comment from players like Favre, they have seen some of Webb's best in practice, but will he be able to do it on the field on Sunday's. Webb does seem to lack some cockiness.

Webb cannot check down through the receivers. If the primary guy is covered he runs. Sometimes he may actually see the secondary receiver but if he is covered he runs. He is not a QB he is a half back that can pass the ball. To rate himself as a QB is pointless right now.

With the Vikings sorry excuse for pass protection, by the time you see your second receiver covered.....you damn well better be running and you better be good at it.

If Webb says he's a five, I accept it.

Until you see him play with decent pass protection, you can't make any judgment.

Thus far, he's done extremely well and he could turn out to be great.

He will have many tough moments if he does get the start today.....but he's learning.

I hope he has a BIG day of handing off to our running backs as they rack up about 250 yards rushing.

That and a few runs of his own and a few completions to mix it up a bit......we win.

We need to eat up a lot of time making TDs and when Vick does get the ball we need to bring some speed to the rush so as to keep him scrambling.

We need a "Three Fat Guy plus Three FAST Guy" rush with a lot of stunts most of the time.

    That will win the game.

You watch football this weekend or are you just a "Vikings" watcher?

I saw 5 jump passes this weekend. 4 worked, one didn't. Hell, even if you are just a "Vikgings" watcher, I'm sure you saw the Noodle do it several times the last two years.

Sad thing in all of this, Webb is already being graded, opinions are already being made, and the kid isn't even close to being ready to be a QB.

You're right. As Vikings fans we know it takes at least 7 years in order to fairly judge a QB. 5 years isn't enough time, much less ONE game.
