Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?
I have been stating that he should have been at WR since we drafted him. I have stated my case several times so I won't rehash the reasons why but I think he would be a special WR and an average QB. I will always take a special player over an average one so I want to see what he can do at WR myself, my friend (Marrdroese)
You can't have enough playmakers on the field my friend. I think he is a playmaker.
You think he's a playmaker - based upon what evidence?

You probably thought Todd Lowber was a playmaker, too.

'fraid I have to agree here. Not ready to QB or receive. I think Percy is the best athelete on the team, but Webb isn't far behind.
I like the role he is in now. Perhaps a year or preferably two, he will be that QB of the future. The potential appears to be there.

Well being an actual football player as well as an amazing athlete is a start. Lowber was a basketball player and high jumper at two D3 schools here in NJ.

While Webb has proven very little, it's not fair to put him in the same conversation as Todd Lowber.

Re: Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?

I would love to see this come to fruition just to see what we have in him at WR.

He also would provide some opportunities to run some "catch em off guard" type plays because of his speed and big arm.

I am not shocked that Chilly kept him sidelined ... but at this point ... he could be a playmaker and we should give it a shot.

Hell ... I think he looks like he could return kicks ... but I know that is a little more specialized.

Just get him on the field and see if he has what it takes to succeed away from QB.

I guess. I don't think he was the kind of athlete that Webb is.

And your source is a punter? lol.
Probably right especially when considering ball handling skills.
I want to see what Webb has as much as everyone else, I just doubt if he's ready.
And to be selfishly honest, I have such high hopes for him as a QB, I don't want to see him injured as a returner or receiver.

A punter, yes. But a direct source that's on the team. He also told me that Favre would win a foot race with Pat Williams any distance over 4 yards, that he's the biggest nerd in the NFL, and that D'Imperio is doing fine on the practice squad lol.

I'd like to see him as a QB in the future as well, but for now I see no issue with working him in like the Jets do Brad Smith.

Re: Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?

Well, Percy can obviously do a few things that Webb can't and Webb can do a few things that Percy can't.....but if I have to choose a WR--I take the tall guy.

    And Webb, remember....doesn't get headaches.

I also hate to see a budding QB get out where he might get injured....but the team needs help......so what do you do?
It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.
