Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?
Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?With Percy Harvin battling migraines, Greg Lewis dealing with a concussion, and Sidney Rice resting his surgically-repaired hip, Frazier’s team found itself thin at receiver during Thursday’s practice.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?
I have been stating that he should have been at WR since we drafted him. I have stated my case several times so I won't rehash the reasons why but I think he would be a special WR and an average QB. I will always take a special player over an average one so I want to see what he can do at WR myself, my friend (Marrdroese)

You can't have enough playmakers on the field my friend. I think he is a playmaker.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not lobbying for him to get under center as I don't think he can read a NFL defense yet at the QB position.
It would be interesting to see if he can read one from the WR position. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I hope they give him a shot and I bet he does well.
As a QB, he already knows where the WRs are supposed to go.....so the adjustment is not as great as one might think. It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

I agree.

If he gets targeted my guess it might be in a bubble screen, a quick slant or something like that were he doesn't have to adjust a route that has a break in it at all.
Just catch it and run. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

So glad we have a player we can agree on.

Re: Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?
This is a positive development IMO. Look at Brad Smith of the Jets. Played QB at Mizzou, runs back kickoffs, plays WR, and Wildcat QB...he is one versatile, great football player. I am anxious to see Webb on the field; don't care really what position, WR for now, fine. QB later, ok...just get him on the field and let's see what he's got.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know

Re: Joe Webb: From Emergency QB to Emergency WR?
In a way, this is kind of sad, because it shows just how badly the Vikings are lacking in depth.
Say he takes one of those now fashionable helmet to helmet hits while making a catch and has to sit out a few games.
Then we're down to 2 QBs.....well, maybe one and a half (the half being one or the other, depending on which one you like). It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.
