    I can agree with this.
Once again, I feel certain that Webb is the victim of the Vikings chronically poor coaching. It's getting to be too many players to count at this point. I wonder when they will stop taking above average talent and ruining it.
I still say put him in as a receiver, or even a TE and let him play. He isn't a QB and it was ridiculous to assign him that position and equally unfair to judge him because of that.
WR and even TE are skilled positions. Vick or Griffen are highly skilled, but would't be a great WR. If he doesn't have a legitimate chance for special teams position immediately we don't have the time to develop the skill. IMHO, I think that is what they determined when the decided to develop him at QB. They must have said we will spend the time developing him as a QB because that will be most probable and efficient for the player.

So if they aren't planning to use him at QB or any other position, why haven't they cut him yet?

    Joe Webb

It's all a devious plot to keep other teams from discovering his hidden talents before it is too late.

    Joe Webb

Using the term arm in reference to Webb is quite the stretch. Maybe they just want to see him jump those bags one more time.

They could sign walk-ons for that or perhaps draft one in the later rounds,

Frazier said that he would like to bring four quarterbacks to camp this summer, which is the same number that the Vikings have right now. Barring a change, that would leave Webb and McLeod Bethel-Thompson to battle for the third spot.
Why us a draft pick when he's already here

A walk-on would be less money. A later round draft pick would be as well & perhaps there's a QB that falls way down the chart that Spielman might be intrigued with.

Training camp money for players isn't really very much.....I've heard players refer to it as beer money, and if Webb is cut before the start of the regular season his contract is gone with before they have to pay it, only thing that could cost more would be a workout bonus if he had any.

the actually dollar value would be $750 a week difference between any rookie

First year player weekly “per diem” is $850 and a player with one or more seasons is $1600 a week
