exactly del rio. whenever i said we needed one of them or travis henry, people said "you're apart of the 'we need another running back club'"

i always said we had 1 backup running back (bennet) a situational guy (moe) a guy with potential but is a rookie (fason) and a guy who could be a number one but hasnt proven much (moore)

now, i realize that even if we had a better runningback, that doesnt mean we would have won either of those games.

I would take Jimmy as a coach!

I would not give him the General Manager / Head Coach title because that never seems to work out.
i wonder.. if tice was fired in the middle of the season, would we be able to bring in jimmy? or would he be contractuably obligated to fox?

i like jimmy, i never used to. but then i started listening to him talk about football, and he always makes sense to me.

National Championship in College and 2 Superbowl wins!

He did go to Miami after Dallas and that did not work out well. It never works well when a head coach tries to be the GM and has final say on players.

But maybe he has one more run left in him as head coach.

Taking over a losing program at Oklahoma, Johnson turned it around. In his five seasons there, the team compiled a 29-25 record and had two bowl appearances. Johnson continued his success as head coach of the University of Miami from 1984 to 1988. He led the Hurricanes to a 52-9 record (44-4 over the final four seasons), snagged two Orange Bowl titles and a national championship, and won 36 straight regular season games from 1985 to 1988. The team had the fifth longest winning streak in NCAA history and had 20 consecutive road wins in the four years Johnson was coach.

On February 25, 1989, Johnson was named by Jerry Jones as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. He took only one season to bring the team from one win or less per season to playoff qualification, fewer seasons than any other team. In 1991, the team sent four players to the Pro-Bowl, the first since 1979. The Cowboys were the first team in NFL history to produce the leading rusher, Emmit Smith, and receiver, Michael Irvin, in the same year. The 1991 playoff was the Cowboys' first post-season win since 1982 and their first road playoff victory since the 1980 season. The club's 11-5 record in 1991 was their best since 1983.

Johnson remained with the Cowboys until 1994 and led them to 2 Super Bowl victories. He is currently broadcasting for the Fox sports network and for HBO.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Jimmy Johnson article on the Vikes' current mess.

How many times do we have to draft a back to find a back. We've drafted both Bennett and O. Smith and have nada to show for it. To me this comes back to hiring scouts on the cheap. Don't tell me there is no bruising SEC back out there Minnesota could have picked up that could be a load to bring down and catch a few passes too. Drafting a back over and over forever just shows poor scouting.

I guess if it would make the Vikings win, I would take a big Johnson.

Maybe if we hire JJ as the head coach, he can engineer a lopsided trade with Dallas to make up for the Walker trade! Wouldn't that be ironic???

Especially if he could bring 3 SB wins to Minnesota as well!!!
