Re: Jim Souhan: Vikings are bad break away from serious QB probl

If he gets hurt, though -- and most NFL quarterbacks, regardless of age, get hurt, unless they avoid injury by throwing 29 interceptions and running away from contact, not that we're thinking of anyone in particular
What was this guys point again???? Negated in one sentance.

Re: Jim Souhan: Vikings are bad break away from serious QB p

Most teams are in similar positions so I don't see that this article exposes anything new in the league.
Having said that until the backups come in you never know how they are truly going to compete. We were lucky with Brad stepping in last year as he played well but he could have sucked. By the same token if you expect a backup to suck then he might step up a gear when coming in.

I take this as being another knock at the Vikes because they wouldn't trade up and take one of the top QB prospects - as I suspect this writer wanted.

Brad Johnson must stay healthy or the Vikings will discover that his backup is the team's second-most important player.

It also doesn't take a genius to know that the Vikes strengthened a lot of other needs on the team. Yes, it does amaze me that these guys get paid for writing stuff that is at the scale of the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

I wish these guys would at least try to earn their pay. It would be easier to come up with a list of teams that aren't screwed if their starting QB goes down. From this list who will be ok if their starting QB goes down (some are hurting even if their starting QB is healthy)? Not many. I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Why don't they just start guessing the date they think Brad will get hurt, obviously in their mind it's imminent...so I mean what's the hold up.

Every team is screwed if their Starting QB goes down.

I couldn't take these backup QB issues anymore so I did a non-indepth analysis on NFL backup QBs. It appears to me that many teams would be circling the drain if their starter went down.

Re: Jim Souhan: Vikings are bad break away from serious QB probl

I heard him say something on the radio the other day about being lucky if we make it 8-8. While this could turn out to be true, I hate hearing him talk like it's just a fact.
