Re: Jim Marshall hopes his ironman record falls to Brett Favre
Favre might surpass Marshalls record as Feagle did for most consecutive starts, but IMO Jim will always be the true "Ironman" until another lineman can surpass his number of consectutive starts.
Marshall has had physical contact on every single play. Feagle can't claim that & neither can Favre.
Plus Favre has had some "token" starts just to keep that streak alive, yet he claims records aren't important to him or the reason he keeps playing..........lieing bastard!

That's BS though. He's a punter. Marshall was a defensive tackle. I remember reading that in one season he played with two broken hands and pneumonia."SKOL" wrote:
Jeff Feagles, and, no, he hasn't missed a game.Wasn't there a kicker a punter a couple of years ago that was close?
What happened to him?
Maybe his team didn't punt a game and he missed out?

=Z=On November 27, 2005, Feagles broke the NFL record for consecutive games played, with 283. The record was previously held by Minnesota Vikings lineman Jim Marshall who played from 1960 to 1979. His record continues, standing at 304 at the beginning of the 2007 NFL season.
Through the end of Week 15 of the 2007 NFL regular season, Feagles holds the following NFL records:
Most consecutive games played, career: 318 (streak still active)
Most punts, career: 1,578
Most punts inside the 20, career: 506
Most punting yards, career: 65,523
Even if Favre was to break it, I'll never recognize it personaly.....I remember a game where Favre was injured the previous week, and he started one series, then went to the bench...He only started that game to keep is string of starts going.....That right there is being a big A S S to me....
