People said he wasnt a liability off the field?..

He is still a great prospect, and will do well in the NFL imho.. even if he isn't none too smart!

I posted in the wrong thread...

Anywhoo... everyone messes up sometimes. Some of the people on these boards may have gotten a DUI too.

These players are kids, they'll make mistakes and learn. Here's to hoping they don't make a habit of it and turn into Matt Jones type players.

But on the same note - the state of Minnesota has just over 5.3 million people in it. the 6000+ who were arrested for DWI last year represent just over 1/10 of a percent of the population.

The Vikings have had three DWI arrests in the last year. That equates to 5.5% of their 53 man roster. The stats are similar for the rest of the NFL.

I don't know exactly what that means, but it expands the perspective a bit.
Also, Vikings players have accounted for 5 of the 32 arrests or citations around the league since last August. That's 16% for the Vikings alone. 84% for the remaining 31 teams combined. (2.7% avg/team).

Felton, 25, allegedly refused an alcohol breath test, which would qualify as a gross misdemeanor.

Felton also was arrested on suspicion of third-degree DWI with an aggravating factor of one prior DWI conviction within 10 years -- also a gross misdemeanor -- and of misdemeanor careless driving
I wonder if the judge will "supersize" his penalty.

Vikings' fullback's DWI arrest under review

The NFL is reviewing Jerome Felton's arrest on suspicion of driving while impaired, for possible discipline, considering the Vikings fullback apparently has a prior DWI conviction.
