Jasper Brinkley could be headed for the IR
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/
Another year, another Vikings player is dealing with a serious hip injury.
Linebacker Jasper Brinkley, the team’s backup middle linebacker, underwent hip surgery on Tuesday, according to Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Brinkley could be headed for season-ending injured reserve.
Brinkley has been a key contributor on special teams. The Vikings signed well-traveled linebacker David Herron last week, and he immediately stepped in as the primary backup to E.J. Henderson.
Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

I blame our crap dome turf.
Brinkley is a thumper and if he is gone for a long time that really sucks. We're bringing purple back.

Re: Jasper Brinkley could be headed for the IR
That sucks. He has been more than a solid contributor. The only solace I can take out of this is that teams will be cutting down from 80 to 53 by next week. There should be some decent talent out there to pick up for LB depth with at least a little time before the regular season starts.
The only problem is after hip surgery to start the season, do we have enough roster spots without putting him on IR.
Get well soon Jasper.

Re: Jasper Brinkley could be headed for the IR
Albeit an important one, he is still just a backup. Like the OL, the LB'rs really don't rotate much.
Unless EJ goes down, not much of an impact here my friends. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
