He hasn't really done anything all year.
I don't care how many double teams he gets or how many times the tackle gets called for holding against him.
This guy is paid to get sacks and he isn't getting it done!
That's why you don't put all your money on one player instead of spreading around on players you really need like wr's or a qb!!!
So, 76 Tackles, 7.5 sacks, 1 INT, and 3 FF is a bad year in 2006?

58 Tackles, 11 sacks, and 7 FF is a bad year in 2005?

And his rookie season having 9 sacks is a bad year?

He got better every year!
See, you may have been onto something after we read the title.
But then you make a ridiculous statement that This guy had one good year in K.C that makes this entire thread a waste.
You lack any sort or sense or credability when you throw out stuff like that w/o even knowing the facts.
Now let's all entertain this silly thread and argue to the death with the topic starter.

Re: Jared Allen is overpaid and overrated!!!
I can't believe this thread !
Go back and watch the Panthers game and how Allen took that game over. He was blowing that left tackle up all game !! And that created the pressure for the Panthers QB to not have any time in the 2nd half !!
Just because he is not getting sacks doesn't mean he is not contributing. Rod Smith said that his best game ever was his first Super Bowl, in which he had ZERO receptions, but did all kinds of stuff (blocking, decoying) to help his team win.
If a player is focused only on sacks, we would say he is an egotist. If he plays for the team, please give the credit !

Allen leads the league in hurries.
Our pass defense has gone from dead last to 17th.
Yeah, he doesn't make an impact at all... :

Re: Jared Allen is overpaid and overrated!!!
This thread doesn't make sense to me.. Allen has 2 sacks already in 4 games, plus he has drawn at least two holding penalties which other then losing a down is just as good as a sack for a loss of 10 yards.. Allen is also requiring double teams which has allowed K-Will to get 2 sacks already.. Allen may be a tad overpaid, but he is not overrated.. How can a guy that played in only 14 games and led the league with 15.5 sacks be overrated?
