Hey, that is how long it takes to learn the offense.....
And the offensive players are supposed to be the smart ones so take it from there

offense is far more complicated to run than defense.
especially for linemen.
D ends will generally only do a few different things throughout the whole playbook, either rush outside, rush inside (not very often) play the run (crash in, out/contain) drop into coverage or stunt.
learning O line is far more difficult, as you need to know exactly who to block on every play, where to go, where everyone else will be .

First off I would like to say that Jared Allen is overpaid because you simply cannott ask a player to give you that much in return, but pass rush is very important, like Nodak said he leads the league in hurries and he has two sacks. He also has a couple batted passess wich is d@mn near a sack in itself. How can you sit here and right up a post saying those holding calls mean nothing? How about preventing the QB from eating turf and going 10 yards in the other direction because Jared Allen beat the LT, ignorance is the only way to explain that.

Another thing to keep in mind, Jared Allen is at the top of the league in terms of sacks in the past 4 years, I beleive Jason Taylor is the only player that tops him, in essense this completly smashes your arguement of one good season. JA also has alot of football left to play this year and the rest of his carear, he's only 26 years old.

Also don't fool yourself into thinking teams don't prepare specifically for JA, he's a beast.
