Sorry, Jim, but you're wrong (as usual).

This is football.
In football, players (especially defensive ones) tend to play aggressively.
This results in mistakes such as late hits.
These mistakes in most cases are just that - mistakes.
Typically, linemen don't do it very often.
To eject or suspend someone for an isolated incident (like Edwards's late hit) is absurd.

With Allen, you MIGHT have a case because he's a repeat offender, so to speak.
But otherwise, the offense doesn't need any more rules protecting them from the defense.
In any case, I doubt suspensions would work as a deterrent for anyone EXCEPT repeat offenders.
For one-time offenders, it's usually a mistake, and a penalty and fine is quite enough.

As for the Williamses, seeing as how you know so little about the case, I suggest you stop trying to tell Roger Goodell how to do his job.

Hopefully we'll get to see JA unleash on a few QBs' blindsides, legally, this season. Lets see if they will try to stop him from playing football altogether.
