The thing about Allens hit is he has been warned about these types of things and it seems to happen atleast every other week

    We will see what happens
    What games are you watching?

If a defensive player cannot hit a offensive player then the game is a wash.

Is it Allens fault that he is better then most and will get to the quarterback?

The problem is within the nfl and this kind of subject is going to cause a strike with the players.

I once thought Goodell was making the right decisions, now I am thinking he dont know his jiggly butt from a hole in the ground.

    Paul please come back!

Although I dont agree with some of the calls I gotta say Allen has had his fair share of illegal hits

I've seen a few helmet to helmets.. A couple late ones.. And few below the legs

You can argue all you want but the facts remain.. The hits were illegal
You have to be kidding me.

The man gets pushed into a quarterback and now a fan of the vikings is calling that a cheapshot?

All i can say is WOW.

The hits maybe illegal to Goodell but are not illegal to the nfl.

    Like i said above.
I wish Paul would come back before Rodger ruins the league.

Why not put a picture of allen in your sig and then call him a cheapshot artist?

Because you honestly dont believe it.
    So dont say it.

You are either blind or have your purple shades on today

You are honestly saying Allen hasn't had too many illegal hits this year?

I love the fact that he plays all out.. But never the less the hits that are being critisized are against the rules.. Take it how you want but the refs agree with it.. And the commish does as well..

The Commish also agreed with with slapping a fine against Moss for saying things about the officials and also fine Tuck for a so called late hit.

    Oh wait a minute.
The NFL also decided not to fine them players after they pulled their collective heads out of their asses and woke up.

As many have said in the past.
The NFL stands for (Not For Long) if they keep pulling the same shit.
    [/quote]

What's your point? The fines were pulled back

Allen's weren't because they viewed his illegal hits plenty of times and went accordingly

He isn't... His job is to get to the QB and he's relentless.
I just watched some highlights of the Purple people eaters and some of these guys are leading straight with there helmets on almost every hit.
They want to knock the player out, Jared Allen just wants to get sacks to help his team win.

whether he is or not doesn't matter.
the point is there are rules against what he's doing.
There weren't those rules back in the time of the purple people eaters.
it goes with every other controversial law or rule, such as gambling, weed, etc.
it doesn't matter if its right or not, the point is its against the rules.

Exactly, Goodell is turning this sport into touch football on the quarterback.
I remember someone on a pregame show saying that it's so difficult to hit the quarterback because you've got such a small window to do it now without getting fined.
It's pathetic that Jared Allen is being known as a dirty player by some and not just relentless.
He hasn't had any problems outside of this year(on the field)

I think if he kept his mouth shut a whole lot better than he does... well, he might be under a little less scrutiny.
Personally, I think that's asking too much of him, but I admit I am biased.

He hasn't really said much besides that he disagreed with the fines

But I don't disagree with them and I think he needs to just play ball

Its just to bad that players now cant play at full speed for fear they will get fined if they hit the quarterback.
I cant believe the NFL expects 250 pound men to stop on a dime when they see the quarterback throw the ball.
I can see if the player follows threw and slams the qb against the ground, but in most cases that is not going on.

Inertia dont allow people that big to just stop instantly.

Re: Jared Allen Faces A Possible Suspension

I agree the NFL has been a little touchy but the thing with Allen's cases are he hits with his helmet to the QBs helmet which is illegal

He had 2 lower hits on Shaub and it's illegal to hit below the knee (1 IMO he was tossed into Shaub)

And he's had some late hits as well

He has been warned and still had problems.. Im thinking they will give him a very harsh warning and say 1 more you will get a game or 2
