And c'mon. So, by your logic ... all but one team overpays for its players every year. The team that wins. Allen was worth damn near every penny of the $73m he made in six years with us. Just over 12 a year for a 50/50 hall of famer who chased the single season sack record while on board is more than worth it.
I am not exactly sure the point of your post anyways. So, athletes should not be paid? You have to spend a certain % of the salary cap. So ... again ... only the teams that win should pay players?
Now ... the hand Zimmer or Frazier was dealt is an argument to be had. I would argue it did not matter what hand Frazier was dealt ... which the rest of the league clearly agrees with since the only job he could get was with a buddy as a coordinator.

When we picked up Allen, we needed a pass rush somethin' fierce. Well, I'll be damned if Allen didn't one man army it for a while. I don't know how many times I shouted out loud watching Allen drag Arod down to the turf. He was a great player for us, and worth every penny.
