This is what happens when aging sports players hit free agency. It was completely expected, but it sucks. The same as when Randle went to Seattle. Jared will always be a Viking, whether he is wearing the colors or not. Good luck to him.

One of my favorites and if it is anywhere outside of the NFC North I will continue to pull for him.

I would not pull for Jared if he is a Cowboy, but I am not worried about that anyway since the Cowboys can not afford Jared

I wish him all the best, one of my favourite players. I hope he does a Matt Birk and gets his ring. Just wish it was for us

    Jared Allen appreciation thread

Best of luck to Jared Allen, one of my fave Vikes ever. A great leader, warrior, and a game changer...not to mention a passionate philanthropist. Jared Allen will always be a Viking, no matter how his career concludes.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

He was a damn fine Viking and I will miss him. Like I miss John Randle. Characters both. But the fact is, DEs after 32 decline rather quickly. Best of luck to Jared whatever he does and I hope we welcome him back one day.

GREAT player for us! I will miss him if he leaves. He is my nephew's favorite football player. I could see him in the Patriots' 4-3 defense. That team needs help rushing the passer.

He already said he'd do this.

It's going to make me sick seeing him in another color. Wish him nothing but the greatest on his career finish.
