    A.J. Jefferson signs RFA tender

I am shocked that nobody in the anti-Spielman crowd has reported that Jefferson signed his RFA tender with the Vikings today.

All right, I'll say it. This was a poor move by the FO IMHO. Jefferson was just short of awful last season. I understand that there are very few CBs on the market right now, but still...

    He better be cheap.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

He wasn't as bad as everyone thought last year, he just doesn't belong in single coverage against teams' number one receivers. I like the signing. He provides some depth at a position where we need a lot of depth.

We haven't had a good secondary in the past 20 years... looks like this year is going to be more the same.

Why resign this kid? He's already proven he can't play in the NFL - yet we cut Winfield? I'd rather pay Winny his full $5M than sign this hack for $1.32M... he honestly cannot play.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

I think Winny way closer to $7+M if I am not mistaken...

Maybe, still a better investment at $7M than Jefferson at $1.32M.

Winny allowed zero passing TDs last season.

Also graded-out by ProFootballFocus as the best run defending CB in the league.

Worth every penny of that $7M+.

Wish I could say that I am excited about this, but I would definitely be lying. I don't like Jefferson in the least and think he is more of a liability that an asset.

Now if they bring Winfield back, I will genuinely be excited.

Exactly, he's a good 4-5 depth corner with versatility. Not starter material, but good depth.

    lol.

I have faith that Spielman is going to be able to work his magic again in this years draft, and we wont see Jefferson again next season.

    (Better?)
