Sad Day?????what are you talking about!!!!

Yes jerry Rice is the greatest receiver of all time or at least one of them, but I am sorry he is way over his prime, dont get me wrong the guy can still catch the ball and help out a team, but to say its a sad day in nfl history!!! Dude give me a break!!! Do you even watch football or was the last time you caught a game when Joe Montana was stilling throwing to Rice!

It is not sad, but it is degrading to JR. Seattles 7th round pick that is going to be somewhere in the vacinity of the 4th-10th to the last pick in the draft.

Props to the man who wants to keep adding on to the records he already has.

He is afraid to let go. He is afraid Moss will catch him.

Well considering how well Oakland has done the last couple of years it may not be Rices fault that his production is down. If he had a good QB
throwing to him he still has some TD's left in him I think. He is a great athlete and able to play longer than most IMO. And I don't think he is still playing because of Moss maybe catching him some day. And bleedspurple he is not a " selfish ahole". Rice is a class act. Thats just a stoopid comment.

Sooner or later an injury could catch up to him and bite him in the asss. I mean a 42 year old against some young fast tough corner or lber? Doesnt bode well. He may be the best in the game a while back but he aint that good anymore to be catching a lot of balls and tds, no matter whose the qb.

He has a chance at a superbowl with the Seahawks and he will definately make their team better. A good move for all involved.

I think Jerry Rice is the greatest of all time and I feel he should retire whenever the hell he wants to! I look at it like this, if you love your job you're not going to want to leave earlier than you have to. I don't think he thinks he's a #1 receiver for any team, he just wants to have more of an influence on his team as the 2, or slot receiver. About Moss catching Rice, if he stays healthy yes he has a shot, but I think the only record Moss wants to catch of Rice's is his what 3 or 4 superbowl rings!! I'll take the rings over any record any day!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
