New free safety Darren Sharper wouldn't go quite that far in his Day 1 assessment of the defense.

"I don't know if we're going to be the Purple People Eaters," he said, "but we're going to be purple something."
 At least he has a sense of humor.

I can't believe they called Tice "The Gimp" in that article. If anyone's seen Pulp Fiction, you know why that would be offesnive...

Re: Irvin walks out at minicamp

Kenny irvin and brian williams are the big reasons why I really really thought we should have drafted justin miller in the 2nd, instead of a guard. Tice can make a starting guard out of undrafted FA's, so I know he could have gotten one in the 3rd round instead, like elton brown.

We are set for starting CB's, but not any farther than that. Williams will be gone at the end of the year and irvin will be gone now or at the end of the year also. If irvin leaves and we get an injury at CB, we are gonna be in the same mess as lest year. To me, CB's are the same as RB's, you can NEVER have to many.

Lets hope irvin stays and we don't have any key injuries at CB.
