Ahhhh, the maturation of a QB discussion. You guys are missing the point. Yes, he's good. Even great maybe.
He is NOT one of the ALL-TIME elite, like this guy is trying to claim.
At what point will any QB be considered one of the "ALL-TIME" greats.
For me, at the end of his career, but never at the one year, two year, three year, hell even 8 year point of his tenure in the game.
Course, I am one of a select few on here who believe that players still have something to learn each and every year, regardless of how long they've been in the league.
Probably be taken the wrong way, but we watched one of the "Elite" QB's make a mistake last year. My guess, he learned something from that mistake.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Umm.. no they didn't.
Romo is great, one of the most underrated QBs in the league along with Mcnabb
He's great in the regular season.. Otherwise a great choke artist
In 2007, against the Giants, he had a bad game.
In 2009, he had an amazing game against the Eagles and a bad one against the Vikings.
Losing against the 2007 Giants or the 2009 Vikings with bad stats is not something to be ashamed of and not really something I'll hold against him that badly. Especially since that O-line looked somewhat shaky since the Packers - Cowboys game and the running game didn't take off at all in either game.
Romo's a very good QB. Elite, nearly.

Choking in the playoffs is something to be ashamed of and something that all Cowboys fans hold against him. Imagine Favre throwing that INT not just last year, but in the 2010 and 2011 playoffs as well. Sure there were other reasons we lost that game, but being clutch is a trait that has to be honored.
Romo's a very good QB, but elite QBs don't consistently choke in the playoffs.

I do agree that Romo is definitely underrated and a very very good quarterback though.
So the Super Bowl is not the playoffs?
It is really simply. The semifinals of anything that ends with two teams is a four team playoff. The Divisional round is the quarterfinals because there is 8 teams.
Are we really having this discussion?

I think calling the losses on the road to the Seahawks and Vikings chokes is a little unfair. And, in the Hawks game he actually played pretty well if not for the infamous botched hold.
Not everyone can win in the playoffs. He has only lost one home game in the playoffs, and that was to the eventual Super Bowl champion Giants.
It depends on your definition of elite. I think very few people would call Tony Romo elite right now as there are a handful of QBs clearly better (Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers just to name a few) but he is pretty close.
All that said ... this is still a ridiculous article.

I'd say that New Orleans has a much "deeper cast of playmakers" than the Cowboys.None

I give the Saints the edge for playmakers, but we've got the non-glory players that make us better.
Their secondary is FAR better than ours,
CB: Porter, Robinson, Gay, Greer
S: Harper and SHarper.
Our LB's are better, and our DL is better, but they have some serious talent on their DL too.
On offense, Shockey is good, as much as I dislike the guy
their WR's are probably the deepest int he league, OL has mad depth, RB is ok, Evans is a pretty good FB. They really have no weaknesses aside from maybe LB.

Nobody ever really has any trouble running on the Saints, so I'd say they also have a weakness at DT. Also at LDE if the combo platter of Alex Brown/Jimmy Wilkerson doesn't do more than Charles Grant did (not difficult).None

Re:If you liked BS's stat twisting, you'll love this
Their DL is:
Brown, Ellis, Ayodele, Smith.
All are talented players. Are they as good as Allen, Williams^2 and Edwards? No. But that's a decent lineup for any team.
Their problem with the run was they have no linebackers to fill in the gaps. 4 DL can not shut down the run. 7 DL and LB's should be able to if they play solidly together, which they did not do.
