Re: If the Vikings made the Super Bowl this year... Your plan.

I'll probably not move from my seat for a good 4-5 days, purely living off of happiness for sustenance during that time.

I'll eventually come to and think that anything is possible and attempt to fly off my roof.

Don't be sad, I got to see the Vikings win.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

If my some miracle the Vikings pull it together and upset a few teams, how would you celebrate? What would you do?

Would you go to the game?
    Roadtrip Caravan?
    Fly to Tampa?
Sit at home with a group of buddies?

Personally, I think I would fly to Tampa for the weekend and watch the game at a local bar.

My wife brought this up today and I was curious as to what everyone else would do.
Might be a fun topic to discuss.
Frankly, I love the caravan idea
"If" this were to occur, it'd be the first time in my lifetime the Purple played for the whole enchilada.
I'd want to make as big of deal about it as possible.
    That could be pretty cool.
It is 1600 miles to Tampa from the Cities.
At 20 mph, that is 160 gallons round trip - round up to 180 for extra driving.
That is no more than $360 per car in gas money.
Maybe throw a hotel stay there and back in Tennessee to hook up with some of the Purple Faithful that were at the Vikings-Titans game... plus $75 per person for food while traveling...

I would say it would cost about $240 per person for a car with 4 people to drive down and back (not counting expenses while there)...
Cut that down to about $160 per person if we drive straight through or sleep in the car at a truck stop...

How awesome would it be to see 20+ cars and trucks decked out in PP.O and Vikings gear heading down for the party!!!

    Damn.
I gotta stop going down this line of thought.
I can't get excited about it yet - one game at a time.
    Let's beat Atlanta.
I'm sure you meant mpg. I think even a caddy would get 20, my lamemobile(mini van) gets closer to 25. Also, it depends on the size of your tank. And, it would be between 65-75mph here to there.

I would go out and buy the biggest and best Prime Rib Roast I could find, add a few Lobsters, Steamers, and Shrimp to the stove top, and fix up a game time Meal like no other.
    Kick
back and relax in the comforts of my home, and welcome Vikings Fans who wanted to join in and watch the game.
I know my Wife and Son David, would also love to watch the game, so it will surely be an at home day, with family and friends...

I also looked into train and flights.
Train out of Minny to Tampa is $336, and it is a 2 day trip (but meals are included).
    Flights are about $380.

I would go to Tampa since I am only 4 hours away.
Then I will be able to die a happy man (sometime down the road of course)

I would cautiously watch the game at home and I would make sure that my kids removed all throwable objects until the game was over.

LOL, I'd watch the game at home too and record it on my DVD recorder. Depending on how the game turns out, that disc would be treasured forever or used to see how far a disc can fly.

Re: If the Vikings made the Super Bowl this year... Your plan.

There is two possible scenarios. I'm a freshmen in college, so I don't necessarily have money to throw around.

    A) My dad and I have a relationship that is pretty much built on farming, baseball, and football. That's really it. That's what gives us a reason to talk and bs about something. I'd come down from college and watch the game with him instead of college friends. He's been watching he Vikes since '61, so it'd be fun to share a SB win together.

    B) Round up some money and a few friends. Join the pp.o caravan or any other one. Just spend the week in Tampa wasting money and basking in all the purple culture.
