If the Vikings DB's could ...
... attack the ball like the Bears did against the Cowboys, the Vikings would be a better team.

If the Vikings play Romo each week, they might look like that too.

10-02-2012, 07:16 AM #4Five picks? It would be difficult to go under the pass and make a pick if the DB's are playing ten to twenty yards off.If the Vikings play Romo each week, they might look like that too.
It is a very aggressive cover 2 rather than a passive cover 2.
Even with that, the late picks, which were much more Romo's fault than the earlier ones, came with the corners playing man up and the safety attacking the ball. The Vikings will play man, but they often push the safety so deep that he could never recover to the ball for a pick.

I hardly ever see our DB's that far off. Not unless they are in a position to allow a team to score. Then (like we saw the Vikes this weekend) will allow all the underneath stuff but not allow a deep throw by dropping into deeper zones.
I didn't make it to the 4th quarter. Fell asleep so I will defer on the later picks, but the beginning of the game, they were playing traditional C2 zones. Only time they got out of that was when they sent a blitzer from the LB'rs or Secondary. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

It would be nice if they could catch the ball when it hits them

as the sacks # rises.. you will see the int #'s rise.. arrant/quick/desperate throws will come when qb's feel the pressure in their face all game long. (see 49'rs .. record setting # of passes without an int.. that must span how many quality teams? how many elite cb's/safteys? and bam.. we get his first.

Give us a few LB's like Urlacher and Briggs and the C2 would look a lot better here too.
