If the Vikes win the division - do you keep Tice?

I absolutely hate Tice but winning is all that matters. If we make the playoffs after such a slow start I think you have to keep him. In fact if we make the playoffs the whole coaching staff should stay. We would start 2006 with more talent, less injuries, and more experienced coaching.

i hate tice sooo much, but if he stays, at least i'll have something to complain about :grin:

No way Cotrell stays. Looney perhaps as a Line Coach as someone mentioned before but no way we leave tice with a bad staff AGAIN. This is why he is so bad. People need to see that. Either he is a bad coach or he has had a bad staff and he needs a good one. Simple as that.

You can't keep tice without paying him more money. I don't think we're gonna be better than 9-7 at best this year... do you sign a coach to a long term contract after so many mediocre seasons?

Don't forget the discipline factor... Wilf is a no fuss guy and it's clear Tice doesn't have enough control over his players.

It's a shame since Tice is deeply rooted in this team. But at some stage you have to move on...

Tice has as much control over his players than any other Viking coach; Grant, Burns, Steckel, Green.......granted he is not a Tom Coughlin type - but do you really want that kinda coach?

If we win the division, Tice stays. If he can get a team to recover from a 2-5 start to win the division, he deserves it.

i agree... i think it would be hard to fire a coach that won the division. in that case, give him a better contract, and get him the tools he needs to be successful (which he has never had) who knows, maybe with the right resouces, he may be a much better coach.

I think it has to do with who else is available. If there is someone out there who Wilf really likes and everyone agrees that it would be a good decision to bring him in then you have to do that whether Tice gets you to the playoffs or not. If we go deep in the playoffs (2nd round and still competitive) or if there is no one out there who really excites Management then I say keep Tice instead of bringing in another middle of the road coach.

In a perfect world he could stay and be the Oline coach or O coordinator but he won't be around if hes not the head man next year.

I would have to disagree with Grant. I think he had way more control over his players.
