With Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson's knee still not 100 percent heathy, and possibly not ready to start Monday night against the Packers, Gus Frerotte could start his first season-opening game since 2005 at Miami.
This is the first time I've read that Jackson may not start. I wonder if something's up? To be perfectly honest, I would almost rather see Frerotte start anyway. The only downside is that he is not as mobile as TJ and if Hicks doesn't hold up we may need a QB that can move well.
Pretty sure Jackson will start, this is just a speculative article... and also mostly just discusses Frerotte's career.

I like the idea of Gus as a backup...but when Gus starts we are just one hard hit away from JDB.

I am stoked to start the season with either QB at the helm.
Best I have felt about our QB situation in a while.
Its better to lose the first game than the last one.

Well, we know the Booty isn't ready.
I sure as hell hope TJack is, cuz they can claim Gus is ready, but my bold prediction is that he'll be a lot more ready around mid season...our KAO isn't the kind of offense you pick up in a few weeks.

What I've been seeing/reading/hearing is that Jackson says he will play and BB says the same.
