Childress held his day-after news conference and was asked about the perception that he has tied himself stubbornly to Jackson at quarterback rather than considering other options.

He asked in return if this perception was backed by the results of a "Gallup Poll."

The reporter said it was more a case of the quiet words of e-mailers reacting to Sunday's defeat.

"There's nothing quiet with e-mails or on blogs," he said.

The media session soon ended. As Childress walked past an old sportswriter, he offered this sentence of advice:

    "Don't look at those blogs."

    I don't think Childress likes PP.O...
    He does?
    ???

There's no mention of PP.O in there that I saw.

Bloggers exist on many different forums, the Vikings site & in newspaper websites.

    It was just his turn!

For the record, I'm not all that impressed with you either Childress.

    I second that

The day a coach listens to the average idiot fan is the day they should resign.
You look at the espn coaches poll and the support is on a week by week basis based on W/L.

Hmmm, was Coughlin a good coach in 2007?
Let's look at the idiot base: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/coach?coachId=35

How about Sean Payton in '07? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/coach?coachId=42
The idiots wouldn't have given him the extension like he received this year.

What about Wade Phillips in '07?
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/coach?coachId=33
Wow, I bet the girls fans wished the fans had control over whether he should walk or stay.

What about Brad Childress in '07?
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/coach?coachId=52
Look at the foresight of the average fan, week to week?

How about Lovie Smith in '08? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/coach?coachId=38
That is a sure sign of idiocy.

Look at the posts on this board where fans wear their emotions on their sleeves.
Any coach worth having as a coach would treat these polls as kaka del rio, unless for some reason they want to base their career off of what some teenager and unscientific poll says.
    Finally a voice of reason.

This is just more mindless blather and drivel in an effort to make us believe our comments/inputs really count when in fact it doesn't.

Congrats on 22000 by the way.

    ;D
    Weird.
I've been in contact with different personnel in Winter Park on three different occasions this year regarding my offseason and game day experiences, two of which were not initiated by me.
If the Vikings really didn't give a gol 'darnit about what the fan thinks, then why on earth would they waste time to talk to the fans.
Why would they have a marketing or PR department at all.
Why would Childress give a press conference at the end of each game?
I mean, if the fans don't count, then there is really no need.

    The fans do count.
I am in no way implying that the fans should have an input on the coach's game day decisions, but in the end, the fans are the customer.
If the fans were not here, the team wouldn't be either.
Disregarding the attitude of the fan base as mindless drivel will only serve to do one thing - alienate the fan base.
Only an idiot would ignore the demands of the consumer, and Zygi Wilf is not an idiot.
From a "Consumer" standpoint I would agree, however, how many of us are considered consumers and worthy of being contacted by the organization?

My guess is a small sampling of the season ticket holders.
So you can't be considered a "Fan" worthy of an opinion unless your a season ticket holder?

I was born in 1962 and my parents are from MN, they filled my crib with purple and gold.
My Mom had a crush on Fran.
I've watched Viking games as long as I've watched TV.
I've never lived in MN, but being a fan for 46 years, I think I have more rights to voice my opinion as a fan, than some corporation in Minneapolis that buys season tickets to give to their customers.

So just because you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and have the $$$ to buy season tickets, doesn't make you any more of a fan than me and many more of the Vikings fan base.

Now if I'm wrong Marrdro and you actually live in Hawaii and fly to all 16 Vikings games each year, then you are the ultimate Viking fan.

    ;D
Were in the HELL did you get that I was saying you weren't a fricken fan.

    Re-read the damn thread.
My point was why Nodack got contacted and nothing to do with long distance fans my friend.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
