"Head to head is the first tie breaker and we got spanked by every other nfc wildcard contender except for NYG who are going to win their division. The most direct route to the playoffs is to win out and hope GB beats da Bears IN Chicago... a very big ask for a team that gave up 40+ points to the Ravens offense!!

Our only saving grace is that both Atl and Tampa got spanked last weekend, but then again so did we "-guruzen

actually we are above ATL and Dallas becase we have a better confrence record, right now we're sittin behind washington. We have a good shot for the wildcard and the division.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Oops... da Bears play IN GB... that can only help!

Williamsonoftry we are NOT above ATL because they BEAT us! Head to head is the first thing they look at if we have played before. DAL and WAS, because we haven't played them (thanks for pointing that out Cajun) we will THEN look at conference record. TB and CAR we also lost so the only team we can beat in a wildcard situation is currently DAL (WAS has a better conf record).

Actually we ARE above Atlanta because it is a four-way tie between us, Dallas, the Skins and Atlanta. If all three of us win and the Skins lose this week then we would remain ahead of Atl. and then be tied with Dallas in Conf. record and common games record which means the tie-breaker would be strength of victory at that point, which would keep us in seventh and move the Cowboys into sixth ... follow? So we want the Cowboys, Falcons and Skins to lose and we win and then there is no problem at all ... With three or more teams tied it goes STRAIGHT to conference record unless a team has beaten all teams tied or been beaten by all teams tied ... that is why we are in the seventh spot right now AHEAD of Dallas and Atlanta.

I agree with you tho. I cant get my hopes too hi because Tice & Co always seem to find a way to let us down. The Vikes are a relatively young team and I think they will be a good team for a long time to come provided Zygi makes the right moves.
Yeah, they really let us down winnining 6 in a row & 6 of our last 7!

    *sarcasm off*

he was talking about big games
I don't see anywhere where he refers to "big games" only.

midgensa right you are dude... I was referring to a simple 2-way tiebreaker scenario. This 3-way tiebreaker and the endless possibilities can be really mind boggling

I think everything comes down to us winning this week AND da bears losing. Everything else is a moot point if these two don't happen this week.

thats right ultra. i have said it before, and im gonna say it a few more times before sunday. the packers have ZERO chance beating anyone for the rest of the season, let alone the bears.
    We're bringing purple back.

Because you came here with the "doom and gloom" attitude. We really do not know you or your intentions.

    Whereas, we know Vikez.

Its all good, its your opinion.

    Dangit.

Here is the NFL tie-breaker rules...memorize it!

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION
If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

    Two Clubs
    1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    5. Strength of victory.
    6. Strength of schedule.
    7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    9. Best net points in common games.
    10. Best net points in all games.
    11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

Not really...even if the Bears win we can move into a playoff spot with a win and a Redskin and Cowboys loss, I believe. That would put us in the 6th seed by ourselves. We might need a Falcons loss also, I'm not sure.
