The fact remains that Bollinger is a Childress guy.
There is nothing wrong with taking care of your guys when you are the Miami Dolphins with hopes of winning 4 or 5 games.
When your team has super bowl aspirations you have to cut the dead weight.
If Childress does cut Bollinger it will prove that he has at least grown as a coach in making personnel decisions.
Comeon my friend.
How far do you think loyalty goes?
I for one don't think it goes far enough to waste a precious roster spot on a NFL team for a guy the HC likes. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

No matter how awful Bollinger is, there is no one on this website that is any better. That I'm sure of.

Hicks, even though he has no fricken upside at all and will probably stick around at the cost of losing a guy that does have some upside, can play all of the OL positions.
Not as good as a starter (thats why he is still a backup), but good enough so as that the staff feels comfortable knowing that if someone goes down he can come off the bench and step in.
Again, you probably should have picked someone else for me to defend as I can't stand that cat but gotta give him props with respect to why he is still on the team. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I am sure it happens with other teams other than the Vikings.
Childress and the Vikings are the only team that I can form an opinion on, because it is the only team I follow.
It is not a bad idea for a mediocre team when a coach is new in the league.
A coach needs players that are going to buy into his system and support him.
The Vikings even signed Detmer last year for a short period due to injuries.
Just long enough for Detmer to get a nice paycheck and get his bills caught up, ha ha.
But a team cannot continue to keep the "good ole boy" around once they get to the point where they are good enought to have realistic playoff aspirations.
Look at the Vikings qb's last season.
Jackson, young and unproven.
Holcomb, a never has been, but a Childress guy.
And, Bollinger, a happy to be drawing a paycheck guy, and a Childress guy.

I will agree with you to a point on one thing, at the onset of coming in and cleaning house, the staff will endevour to bring in guys that will make the transition easier until they can find better players either through the draft or FA that will fit the scheme.Marrdro you are far to knowledgable of a fan not to no there are marginal players that make teams because the coach likes them.

We saw the Chiller do it and we are seeing the Tuna do it down in Miami, however, at some point those guys are replaced by better talent.
No way does a coach bring a guy in so he can get a check and pay off some bills.
Do you honestly thing the ownership would buy into mangagement gaffs like that?
To sit here and think that the Head Coach has that much pull and that the rest of the front office would not veto a effort to bring in a guy just cause the HC likes him is crazy talk.
Lets not forget, if the team fails they all fail and they all can get fired.
Again, why would they bring a guy in just as a favor?
Again, crazy talk to think that way. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: I am a better QB than Brooks Bollinger.
Wow... I didn't realize there was so much Brooks Bollinger hate on this board.
I think he was alright for a backup QB... but who wouldn't take Prophet over him?
Anyways, I actually feel bad for the guy. I guess the coaches all really liked him and he worked hard. It's a business though...Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
