Hypothetical
Lets say Brad Johnson goes down with injury and McMahon isnt winning any games as the QB. At what point should Travaris go in? Do you stick with McMahon until the season is a guaranteed no playoff contention or do you throw him in after the first few McMahon losses and see what he can do?

Re: Hypothetical
Personally I think if the season is lost theres no better way to learn than first hand experience. Get some games under his belt and be able to start in 2007, Eli Manning style

Re: Hypothetical
I'de first have to look at the loses and see if they where all because of McMahon's play or where they a combination of his poor play and play by others.
Personaly, I'de rather see TJ just use this season for learning and developing. This also gives him the chance to build up his body and work on strength.....I'de hate to see him thrown to the wolves and get injured himself on top of it...
Brad is tough, and I would hate to see him go down for any reason this upcoming season......

Re: Hypothetical
You put in Jackson when we are out of playoff contention, that's when.
We need every opportunity to ge to the playoffs.

Re: Hypothetical
I am counting on BJ not going down. If he does, it depends on what week it is. If it happened in week 15, and the only two games left were GB and St louis, I wouldn't mind seeing TJ go in. Otherwise, TJ needs to ride the pine and learn regardless of who is taking snaps.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Hypothetical
I wouldn't be so quick to count out McMahon. He may not be the best QB in the world but we still have a good running game with our offensive line and when the run works well, even McMahon can hit open receivers.

Re: Hypothetical
I hope that Brad does not go down, but if he does and we are out of the playoff race then I would like to see them try Jackson and get some hands on experience and a little test under fire.
I would prefer that he comes in at the end of a few games when the Vikes are blowing out a few teams to take some snaps and get his feet wet that way. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Hypothetical
I hope that he does not come in and play, I know he has skills, but I don't think that he is going to be able to play for squat, I hope he can watch and learn from brad for AT LEAST 2 years.
