Re: How Percy Harvin Changes the Vikings Playbook in 2009

I was one who slightly doubted Harvin

I didn't think he would come off right away and make a good impact

I felt he would take some time to develop into a true WR.. But he ran good routes and make some decent grabs

If he keeps this up ill be thrilled

Percy Harvin: Newest Viking Weapon

His impact has been immediate, given Sunday's 34-20 game one victory over the hapless Cleveland Browns. Harvin was used as a receiver, collecting three receptions - including his first career touchdown and Quarterback Brett Favre's first Viking touchdown - and as a "slash" back on two running plays. The two running plays each gained 11 yards, and one of Harvin's receptions was Favre's only completion that traveled more than 10 yards in the air beyond the line scrimmage. The Vikings' willingness to use this new weapon is quite apparent.

Anyone want to change thier opinion of this cat and how well he is gonna do this year?

Some other interesting nuggets....

one of Harvin's receptions was Favre's only completion that traveled more than 10 yards in the air beyond the line scrimmage
I can hear them in the team meetings.......WR's, don't need to run your routes deep and for cripes sake LNA, don't try to throw it past the 20..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

What an assssssss.

Oh well, Childress' annoying penchant of bringing in marginal ex-Eagle, ex-Wisconsin Badgers, personnel continues. The steady Wade would have given the Viking set of receivers fantastic depth, but that would have made too much sense for a Childress run team. Even still, given the bevy of riches in this Viking offense, as long as the blockers up front block, can Childress even screw this up?
Thanks for the read Marrdro.

I'm one who doubted Harvin. I will enjoy my crow sandwich.

One thing I like about Harvin is his skill set, which naturally leads to an increase in creativity in offensive play calling.
Opposing defenses have more to work on getting ready for this team.

I also expect the O-line to gel more as they play more.
My serving will be double size ;D
