How many losses before Tice is Gone?

If you read between the lines following the game Wilf's statements sound like he's not gonna stand for many losses before he "does something."
I'm thinking the something may even be a change of coaches in mid-season.
I like Tice but if he doesn't get out of the blocks soon with a few good wins I think he's gone.
How many games do you think Tice will last?

I think he will be here for the season unless we start 1-8 or something like that. If he finishes out the season here I expect at least a 10 win season and one playoff win for him to keep his job.

Re: How many losses before Tice is Gone?

If you fire your coach mid-season, you are packing it in. You cannot have a good year if you switch coaches mid-season. The new coach brings in a new philosophy which takes time for the team to learn, and until they learn it, they usually lose a lot.

Plus, who are you gonna hire mid-season?? Anybody that's any good already has a job. Are you gonna hire Dennis Erickson?? Or are you just going to promote Ted Cottrell?? (Not a good idea).

So to answer your question, unless we lose the next 8 games or something, we aren't going to be changing coaches. As long as we have a chance to make the playoffs, we are sticking with Tice.

Now next offseason is a different story...

    Thanks PPE for the sig.

8 losses ... if he's better than .500 he can get by saying we had a lot of new players, coordinaters ... yadda yadda and keep his job. If he's under .500, Hello Fassel !!!!!

    I sure hope not.

As for cotrell I think he would make a good coach. He has the resume to do it. I wouldnt mind giving him a try.

I think he will be dfired this season and Cottrell will take over as interim. Than in the off season I bilieve Wilf will spend the money on a whole new coaching staff. You get what you pay for, and we are paying a league low to Tice, therefore you can't bring in proven coordinators as their salary demands are higher than what we pay our head coach.
