TJ looked pretty good on the scrambles, kept things moving.

4 sacks and a bunch of scrambles, seems like they had decent pressure to me.
Seems as if no one wants to give us any credit but rather blame the loss on the fact that the Giants lost the game all by themselves.

Just solidifies the fact that the only thing worse than the sports hacks are the talking heads on ESPN when it comes to actual football facts.

    ;D
Iwas watching the half time show during Sunday night football last night. Those clowns were reviewing the days games. They talked about the Giants loss. They never one single time said the word Minnesota or Vikings. The Vikings didn't exist at all in their report.
I long for the day they can no longer ignore this team. Jag offs.

    That is so true JJ.....

    It's been for sometime now,

    When we win,
the other team played poorly and beat themselves....

Just look at most of the game re-cap stories out there on the net, almost all have a picture of Eli near the headings, with that look of gloom on his face......

They should have a nice pick of DS taking one to the house or something.......

    Exactly.
We have not had very solid pass protection all year.

I know I have been tough on TJ, but not everything is his fault.
He is young and young QB's take time to be able to stand in there and deliver the ball in the face of a certain hit.

Not to mention that there are times when there is nothing there.
Sure, maybve Favre or Manning can zip it in there where the defender cannot get it.

One of the smartest plays for a QB is throwing the ball away.
I would rather have loss of down than a turnover.
The play where he threw it away signaled he is learning.
In the other games he would scramblle and froce only to be picked.

    He is learning.
I am not saying he is going to be in the NFL for years, but at least we see some development with him.
I don't know who else noticed but I only saw one time where he actually looked off his first read out of the highlights of this video.
    BTW great job Ultra.
Therefore, with the pressure it looks as though if the first read isn't there he may be told to tuck it and run.
I saw on a couple of them there were wide open receivers.
I too have been tough on TJ but I will say he's been extremely efficient the past 2 weeks.
Can't ask for more than that right now.
If he stays healthy I would like to see more production out of him by the end of the year.
I cannot argue his 5-2 mark as a starter.

I think you are dead on there EJ.
I don't doubt for one second that part of the game plan.
The Giants talent on Defense resides mostly on the Dline.
Getting himself and the ball away from them ASAP was a key to our success.

One thing I have noticed about Tarvaris though is his propensity to look to scramble rather than actually stepping up in the pocket to deliver the ball and possibly take a hit.

It's not so much pass protection (of which it is usually average at best) but rather his pocket presence and comfort that concerns me.

    That will come with reps.

Perhaps, I've seen other young quarterbacks already with it and its something many veteran qbs don't have.

Re: How Long Did T-Jack Hold the Ball w/ Video

the thing that bothers me is that when the pocket collapses and he starts to take off, he'll stop for a second and think mabye he'll pass, and thats usually when he gets sacked or fumbles.
I think he needs to make up his mind whether he wants to run or not and just go with it.
This will come with time, as Ultra said.
When he gets more comfortable in the pocket (mabye the pass protection will improve too)
is when he will start to put up better numbers.

Re: How Long Did T-Jack Hold the Ball w/ Video

I think it's one part pass protection, two parts hesitation. He still does not look totally comfortable back there. When he does, he has certainly improved with his accuracy and his ability to put touch on the ball. He also has eliminated the bad decision-making.

It's nothing that can't be overcome with experience. He'll develop an internal clock until it gets pounded into him (although apparently Carr never did). He'll also get rid of the ball quicker when he learn to make quicker reads, and learns to recognize defenses before the snap. If he has to rely on his legs more until that happens, that's fine with me, as long as he slides.

As far as pass protection goes, I thought it was pretty good considering who they were facing.

The same line that Taylor and Peterson have been having break out years?

    Amazing its always there fault.

T-Jack only threw for 140 yards.
We aren't in the playoffs yet.
2 games does not make us champions.

Last time I checked we were still 5-6.

A long way to go before we crown anybody.
