How Long Did T-Jack Hold the Ball w/ Video

Ok, I put the game from DVD into my video editor.
    You decide.

    First Sack

    Ball snapped
    TJ sets his feet
    TJ breaks to srcramble
    Time in the pocket:
    a little over a second

    TJ Scramble

    Ball snapped
TJ realizes he is meat and runs
TJ did a good job here.
He never has a chance to set-up for the pass Herrera's man comes completely free (bad blocking) and TJ does not hesitate and goes and gets 6 yards and the 1st down.

    Second Sack

    Ball snapped
Drops back and sees nothing there.
Really never sets to pass and attempts to run.
Good pressure applied b the Defense.

    Third Sack

    Ball snapped
    TJ sets up to pass
    TJ breaks to run
Pocket collasped and TJ has to go.
I think this may have been a quick throw like a slant or an out.
He is looking left as he is dropping back and maybe nothing was there.

    Fourth Sack

    Ball snapped
    TJ sets up
    TJ breaks to run
This one again looked like a quick throw.
He takes a 1 step drop and sets-up, nothing there, then steps back once more.

    TJ Scramble

    Ball snapped
    TJ breaks to run
Never really has a chance to set-up on a deeper drop.
    He gains 19 yards.
Do not really want him taking defenders head-on though.
    Good job.

    TJ Scramble:

    Ball snapped
    Sets-up
    Breaks to run
Again looked like a quick hit.
Nothing was there, defender in his face, he runs for 11.
Good job not trying to force it.
Plus he does the wise thing and slides.

Take this for what it is worth.
I am glad he did not force anything.
I think that in time he will learn to stand in there and make the throw.

    Excellent job my friend.

I can't see the Video, however, I will take a look at it when I get home.

Didn't he make a few pass completions with a LB and a DE hanging on him as well.
I thought that he (and the OL) actually did a pretty good job of not making any huge mistakes against a very formidable pass rush.

Still not sold on his ability to stay healthy though. Other than the fact that he is still a project under development, that is his only detractor in my book.

TJ looked pretty good on the scrambles, kept things moving.
Ditka mentioned this morning on Mike and Mike ... and Mike show that the Giants pass rush wasn't there yesterday.
4 sacks and a bunch of scrambles, seems like they had decent pressure to me.

Seems as if no one wants to give us any credit but rather blame the loss on the fact that the Giants lost the game all by themselves.

Just solidifies the fact that the only thing worse than the sports hacks are the talking heads on ESPN when it comes to actual football facts.

These are all plays where the pass protection broke down. Not a surprise that it happened considering the Giants are leading the NFL in sacks.

That said, maybe one of the big problems we have in our passing attack is overall sub-par pass protection.

    Exactly.
We have not had very solid pass protection all year.

I know I have been tough on TJ, but not everything is his fault.
He is young and young QB's take time to be able to stand in there and deliver the ball in the face of a certain hit.

Not to mention that there are times when there is nothing there.
Sure, maybve Favre or Manning can zip it in there where the defender cannot get it.

One of the smartest plays for a QB is throwing the ball away.
I would rather have loss of down than a turnover.
The play where he threw it away signaled he is learning.
In the other games he would scramblle and froce only to be picked.

    He is learning.
I am not saying he is going to be in the NFL for years, but at least we see some development with him.

Iwas watching the half time show during Sunday night football last night. Those clowns were reviewing the days games. They talked about the Giants loss. They never one single time said the word Minnesota or Vikings. The Vikings didn't exist at all in their report.
I long for the day they can no longer ignore this team. Jag offs.
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"
