I was thinking the same thing Del.. He was just getting into the D.. No one was really performing.. If he had some playing time he would be better IMO

You are not enlightening any Viking fan with those stats. Everyone knows Moss set the standard for rookie WRs and nobody in the history of the game every put up those numbers nor will anyone for a long time to come."ultravikingfan" wrote:

If you want to analyze the Moss trade then at least put some effort into it. Look at the money saved versus spent. Look at the direct versus indirect acquisitions due to the trade. Look at the composition of the team and the gameplan of the team as a result of the trade. Look at the whole transaction and do a thorough analysis rather than just putting stats up and expecting a rookie WR, any rookie WR, to put up those kinds of numbers.
The Vikes picked up two veteran WRs, Taylor and Robinson, and Burleson has been nonexistent this season. Their receiving corps, complemented by two solid TEs is in good shape. Williamson will develop into a fine receiver.

we all know rookies can do very well, and we all (well, most of us) know that Troy will not be another randy. we've learned to deal with it, i suggest you do the same. he won't put up huge numbers because he's playing with a Qb who doesnt like the long ball all that much (is changing now, starteing to go deep more) and the defence doesnt have to double any other recievers (cris Carter) so they can respect troy more and pay more attention to him.
troy isnt randy, he never will be.

I agree with this! He is a pretty talented darn rookie!Troy Williamson
Preseason expectation: brought in to slowly develop into a good receiver
Late Season update: Has stats comparable to most other rookie WRs
catches 69
yards total 1313
average yards per catch 19.0
TD's 17
those stats belong to a certain 1998 rookie...whose 1st year production will most likely NEVER be duplicated...so TWill is doing just fine for a NORMAL rookie WR.....BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

He was 1 in a million.
Where is your point?
And who said he was to replace Moss? The media? Because the Vikings sure did not say that or any of their players.
Maybe since he sucks so bad, we can trade him for Dawkins or Reed; kinda tacky.
I guess Carter sucked butt too his rookie season:
9 Games, 5 Receptions, 84 Yards, and 2 TD's.
Back to your old self I see.

Re: How it's played out
I am just angry that we overloaded our roster. Sure Koren and Marcus have contributed, but Travis and Nate really haven't. Troy was even activated last week. How is the rook supposed to grow and gain experience with all these WRs?
