Re: how to fix the defense in the offseason
We need 2 go after Julian Peterson of the 49ers and get a SS to replace Corey Chavous.

"SSSMMMOOTTT" & "Toine" will be the best CB combo in the NFL next year TRUST ME!!!

Re: how to fix the defense in the offseason
maggici, thanks for acknowledging that dt and Napoleon harris are athletic studs. I guarantee with a new coach that this talent wont go to waste. I know theyre better than that, you know their better than that, but They need to PROVE TO THE NFL THAT THEY ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

Yeah i agree with that. If you look at our D there pretty much aren't any positions that NEED to be filled. Its easy, get rid of Ted Cotrell.
We have the talent already.
D-line- K-dub/Mosley. P-dub, Udeze/ Scott, Erasmus/Johnstone:
Really good lineman. Our ends are young with some veteran backups. Could be great but K-dub underachieved this year. No needs here.
LB- EJ/Dontarrious, Cowart, Newman/Raonall/Napo:
Cowart led the team in tackles, EJ is a future NFL stud, and Newman had a breakout season. Napo is a bum. Raonall is a solid backup. We might be able to replace newman but it isnt in any way necessary.
CB- Antoine, B-dub (maybe), Smoot, Ralph Brown, Dovonte:
Unless Brian williams leaves there isn't much need for fixing here. Maybe a new 2nd corner but only if williams leaves and it isn't exactly necessary.
S- Sharper/Fox, Chavous/Offord
Defenitely no need for anyone here. Sharper led the NFL in picks and made the pro bowl and has an unproven second year guy as his backup. Chavous is solid and did well tackling this year. Offord could start on most other teams but will probably stay a backup unless chavous gets hurt or for some reason is cut or traded.

The best way to fix this "D" in the offseason .... Leave It Alone !!!! Just let it continue to gell and dont give it another fricking overhaul ....

I also think that Gallishaw will turn into something good. During the preseason he seemed like he had some talent.
