How do you think the the offense will perform in 2008 - compare projected stats

Before you go any further - understand that the numbers listed here are simply my opinion. They
are based on the F/A additions this year and the impact I believe they will have individually and the impact those free agents will create for others. These #'s also are based on a full 16 game season.

    Q/B - Jackson - Passing - 2670 yards with 21 TD'S and 14 Ints's

    Rushing - 320 yards with 2 TD's

    R/B - Peterson - 1930 All purpose yards with 17 TD's

    Rushing - 1600 yards with 14 TD's

    Receiving - 30 Recpts 330 yards with 3 TD's

    R/B - Taylor - 956 All purpose yards with 7 TD's

    Rushing - 700 yards with 6 TD's

    Receiving - 32 Recpts 256 yards with 1 TD

    W/R - Berrian - Receiving - 70 recpts 900 yards 8 TD's

    W/R - Rice - Receiving - 45 recpts 590 yards 5 TD's

    W/R - Wade - Receiving - 55 recpts 594 yards 4 TD's

I have not included the T/E position in this post because I dont have any feeling on what the position will do this year? Anyhow, those are my projections for 2008. Tell me what you think?

I think you're full of shit and pulled the numbers out of your ass.

If our offense finishes with those stats, we are winning the super bowl...

Hmmm, that is about 18 points per game in TDs alone, not counting FGs, so we are look at averaging in the mid 20's minimum.
That would be pretty damn good for out offense.
    I'll take it!

something a little more realistic That would be incredible if it could happen would be

    qb: TJ 2600 yds, 19tds, 15 int

    300 yds rushing, 3 td

    rb:
    AD 1500 yds, 13 tds

    200 yds recieving, 1 td

    CT 650 yds, 4 tds

    250 yds recieving, 1 td

WR: Berrian 50 catch, 600 yards, 5 td

    Rice

    55 catch, 600 yds, 5td

    Wade
    40 catch, 350 yds, 2 td

    Ferguson 20 catch, 150 yds, 1 td

    Allison

    15 catch, 150 yds, 1 td

    TE: Shank
    20 catch, 150 yds

    Sauce
    6 catch 50 yds

    Mills

    7 catch 100 yds

That puts us in the 16 TD points per game range - not a bad position.
Throw in the average of 2 FGs, and we are still above 20 points.
    I'll take it...

Re: How do you think the the offense will perform in 2008 - compare projected stats

Maybe I over estimated the impact our F/A signings would bring but, i really dont think scoring in the upper 20's is out of the question. Obviously, the biggest unknown in the equation is Tjack taking his game to the next level however, Berrian should give him a good consistent target. Rice will get coverage from the weaker c/b and if they both start to develop some chemistry with Jackson and make some plays downfield, that should take away the 8 in the box defense we saw every week last year. The success in the passing game will create the kind of room that Peterson can exploit and will allow him to have a much larger impact on the outcome.

I realize there are alot of ifs in my projected stats, but, if this team is going to make any noise during the season and hopefully into the playoffs, than IMHO, these are the kind of numbers we will need (and can be produced) from those players. The difference will show up in our red zone %. Last year we averaged 22.8 points a game and our red zone was not good and we had virtually no passing game. If we can score just one TD a game insted of kicking the field goal we improve that average to 26.8 points a game. Scoring in the upper 20's is not out of the question for this team!!!

Maybe this is just a dream on my part but since the season is still 5+ months away, it sure is nice to dream.

Seriously? Chester Taylor will have more receiving yards that AD??!!

Hahaha, laughable. No, I don't think it's gonna happen like that.

Oh... and AD will have over 2,000 yards.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Maybe it isn't too far fetched.
The Vikings averaged 22.8 points per game last year, and our offense is only going to get better.
Hmmm, maybe you are on to something...
