Re: How big of a distraction was Randy?

The coaches are the ones who need to keep people in line, it is that simple. Noone on the Vikings has feared reprucsions since Randy starting getting away with everything he was doing.
As for the trade, it was not a good trade, I think most people can see that ... at least talent wise. And right now the team is a mess compared to what Randy caused at times. Getting rid of the top receiver for distractions seems ironic right now. We were 64-48 in regular season games with him ... that is a pretty good winning percentage to trade away ...
All is not lost yet though ... how they respond in Chicago this week will be telling.

Man I don't like to bring up Randy but i've been thinking too much about the trade.. Man did we get shafted.. We got rid of him to get rid of distractions? Yah sure but look at whuts been going on the last few years.. Too many DWI's, fights and things like that.. Now we lose a gamechanging player to a player who doesn't even start anymore and a rookie.. gol 'darnit it.. I'm not sure where im going with this so im gonna stop I just needed to vent a little I suppose
The rookie however does have the same ammount of TDs as the guy he was helping to replace with a lot less playing time in all four games. As for Harris we can just hope that he either wakes up and gets motivated by this benching or that he can help by doing all those things that Newman used to do and contribute that way. We were also never going to get equal value for Moss in a trade so there's no point talking about that we got Harris from them there was probably no other defensive player that would have been better since I like that we got Smoot instead of Woodson and his 10 million dollar franchise tag.
the rookie led us to 1 win....

Good points Fuad.. I really like Williamson.. However RIGHT NOW.. RIGHT NOW.. Williamson doesn't open up the running game for us.. And doesn't demand a double team.. However in the futrue I see that happening.. The trade also cleared up some caproom for us so that helped.. But i'm still questioning the trade.. I need rehab or something
the biggest return we got out of the trade was cap space , i'm guessing that his opened cap space made room for atleast 3 of the defencive FA signings . then throw in a number 7 pick and a "token" defencive player with some potential .

during all the trade talkes about edge and alexander the supossed going rate was a 3rd round pick. considering this i would say that the vikes did ok . although i'm sure that it would have took more to get alexander and edge.

all together vikes got harris from oakland , williamson from the draft , cap room for pat , smoot and sharper. also didn't we trade a 7th round pick for cowart?

by the way any one know the raiders record?

There was a whole lot of change in this organization. I doubt Ziggy supports the actions.

You are right about giving it time, but when the players are displaying such actions off the field, it is hard to imagine that the organization planned for that. And I will give the team a little more time to gel, however the off-field stuff is not a growing pain for a transitional team, it is a distraction and it makes fans mad.

    Cheers!

Randy Moss has in my opinion led the Raiders to a grand total of 0 wins it was when they finally decided they could use Lamont Jordan that they won a game. Also what has happend to Jerry Porter how has this guy done so little to contribute if Moss is drawing all the attention he was better as their #1 target he was cosidered better then Burleson but what has he done?
