Re: How big of a distraction was Randy?
Raiders game I've watched they are sending Moss on short and medium slants alot, right into the teeth of safeties and LBs that have been dying to get a shot at him for years. Minnesota seldom send Moss on slants and he rarely took big hits but that allowed the tight man over/under coverage he got in Minnesota. If he could effectively run slants like Rams receivers and like Rice did he would be completely unstoppable but I don't think he can. After Moss catches the ball he is an uprigt runner, he doesn't seem to get his head and shoulders down well and is taking more hits this year than all his years in Minnesota.

Re: How big of a distraction was Randy?
Here are the stats for the first 5 games of the season. Both teams are 1 - 4!
2005
Troy Williamson 13 catches - 201 yards - 2 TDS
Randy Moss 19 Catches - 466 yards - 2 TDs
2004
Randy Moss 26 catches - 394 yards - 8 TDs
2003
Ranyd Moss 36 Catches - 515 - Yards - 6 TDs
One thing to remember, when Randy came in 1998 he had Cris Carter and Jake Reed to take pressure off him, and an established offense. A great O line and Randal Cunningham had a great year and Robert Smith for defenses to worry about!
A big difference to what Troy Williamson is seeing from this team and what he is playing with!!!!What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: At least...
The sad thing is in the NFL the coaches get sh!t canned for the team not performing, outside distractions and lack of control. They can't babysit these "grown-men" pampered athletes 24-7, but they are still held accountable and for that Tice and crew will not have jobs next year (at least with the Vikings organization). It's a shame. If I were to go and do something like this (well, not that it would get out in the media cuz I'm a nobody) I would have to be the one to deal with the consequences. They wouldn't be asking my boss questions and my co-workers questions. My boss' neck wouldn't be on the line, I would have already been booted. It's such a reverse world to be a pro athlete.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
