It has to be a motivation ploy cause Hovan was a non factor on Monday night and has been for over a year. Can not remember when he made a difference in a game, for being somebody that the team needs to count on he has not produced!

Give him 1 more game and if he doesn't start playing better bench him start Steve (wild and crazy guy) Martin and bring Hovan off the bench.

You can give me the evil-look or the evil-eye, but it does not change the fact that he has not been a major force or a factor in a game for a long time.

I am a Viking fan and no one player is the Vikes, not Moss, Cpep, Hovan.
They have had great players before these players, and will have great players after some of these guys are in the Hall of Fame. I enjoy the players while they are here, but when a player is supposed to be a major factor at a crucial position and he is not getting the job done, it might be time to look elsewhere for answers.

Stats aren't everything. To say he hasn't been a factor, when he has taken 2 offensive lineman as much as he has, doesn't make much sense. What do you think made it easy for kevin williams to have as good of a year as he did last year??? Hovan taking 2 O-lineman a lot of the time. If he is gonna get doubled as much as he has in his career, then great, since we have 2 play makers on the D-line, in kevin williams and udeze, that will take advantage of that.

You can clearly see he has his explosion back and is really getting off the ball quickly. I think it is a matter of time, before he is back to his form of 2 years ago.

I guess I missed that, definately didn't see any evidence of his alacrity returning to its former state.

Watch how quickly he gets off the ball against the bears, you will see. In the cowboy game he was off the ball so quickly that he looked off sides a few times. One was on the fumbled snap by vinny.

Don't get me wrong, I WANT Hovan to prove me wrong, he just hasn't yet, and I don't expect him to.

And the guy posting with his name turns my stomach ukeright:

You may not like hovan, but just like that weird uncle at the family reunion, he is a part of the Viking family. And you gotta love that! Anything beats being a Pack fan, don't you agree?

Nice of you to show your face around here...are you back on the wagon now? Or are you still touting Favre as the toughest player in NFL history?

Until Favre (or any other player) starts playing without a helmet, he will never be the toughest player in NFL history. Today's players are wusses compared to the pioneers of the game. Favre is tough, but there are many players that would have played with the assortment of injuries that Favre had (could he have played on a broken leg like the one that Sir Francis or Theismann suffered). Favre is fortunate that his injuries were of the type that did not preclude him coming back onto the field, but that they were of the variety that he could still set foot on the field. In his defense, many players would have sat out with lesser injuries, but he continued to play because he at least had a choice to do so.

Back to Sir Francis for a moment. Boy, was I pissed that day...Fran was 16 for 17 that day and had a shot at Ken Anderson's single game passing percentage record (min 20 attempts) of 20-22, when his leg was broken. Just goes to show that the timing of the injuries in football is as critical as who gets injured.

    Hovan Graded Well

Where the hell is everybody? It's Friday, no work or school for most of us tomorrow. I guess that many are partying tonight or storing up their sleep so that they can stay up all day on Sunday to watch the game. Unless they are all posting on other football or different sites. This is the first and only site that I post to. Had to go to a party earlier tonight, but it was pretty tame and ended by midnight, so I came back to see who was here. I am somewhat disappointed but so far this week my timing is off regarding who is here at the same time as me. I realize that I am probably treating this board more like a chat room but it is just because I prefer the format (longer posts). I just like the instant feedback that you get when many fans are online here. The rapid fire back and forth is what makes it more fun too.

Thought that I would drag this one back up to the top of the list to put it next to the last thread that I posted to (see Hovan tie-in).
