Thread: Houston Game

Yeah, I'm pretty fortunate this year. I actually get to go to 3 Vikes games. I am going to the Houston game week 5, then the New Orleans game on Sunday night in week six and the Christmas Eve game in the dome against the Pack. It is a great year!

I would love to go to the NO game (as you might surmise from my screen name, I have roots down in Louisiana). But for the same reasons why I can't make it to the Houston game, I will probably not make it to NO as well. What's your connection (if any) with The Big Easy?

Well, I lived there for almost three years and just kinda picked up the nick name "BIG EASY". I have lots of friends there so I make my way over there every other month or so.

It is true that once you have lived in Louisiana, that the friends that you made there are friends for life. I have met several people who can attest to this, in fact, a current colleague originally from Boston who went to Tulane Law School constantly laments having to leave all of his friends behind when he moved to DC. I miss much of what Louisiana has to offer, but a man has to go where the money is...so here I am...for now.

Great to meet you, Big Easy! Enjoy the party in NO. Who knows, maybe by some miracle, I will be there too.

Yeah, that is the truth! I lived in South Dakota for 21 years and lived in New Orleans for 3 and the friends that I made there are just as good of friends as my boys that I've spent most of my life and grew up with. They are some amazing people down in that part of the country. Very care free, and just out to have a good time. Too bad that there football team sucks. lol
