Re: Honest question....do the Refs hate us?

I hope the "forward progress" fumble in the first quarter was not a fumble because the refs were told about how they screwed up the same type of call at Minnesota. I mean when Mathews stripped Peterson for a TD when AP was being pushed backwards.

Some of the call the refs have made this year make my head spin. The no call on BB's TD for a terrible facemask, the late hit call on rogers this week amoung a few other. And I wont go into last week. Isnt there some type of panel that watches consistantly bad calls?
To answer your question simply, no. The refs do not hate the Vikings.

the worst was when favre threw to BB in the endzone in the 1st half, and the corner grabbed BBs wrist and held his arm down so he couldnt use both hands to catch the ball.
Dont know how that wasnt called or why the announcers didnt say something.
maybe i missed something but on the replay it looked pretty clear that the corner held his arm down.
tomer, your not alone, I read into that non called pass interference the same way you descibe it above....
Again, we where dealing with a very bad officiating crew.
I don't even want to get into all the bad calls and even worse, the none calls. Espiecaly offensive holding calls, that should have went against the Pack O linemen, that never where called.
Hell, I watched Ray Edwards get tackled one passing play, and the ref just shrugged his shoulders at him, like " What should I do "

Very sad officiating again, two weeks in a row against us.

    Yes they do.
    No they don't.
They just had money riding on the Pack.

Seriously though, I agree with a lot of people here that the calls were bad tonight.
It seemed a little inconsistent in terms of what got called and what didn't (both teams had worse late hits than the Edwards' call that didn't get called).
Didn't look like the refs wanted to call holding all night, except for the worst of the worst.

Not sure that it hurt the Vikings much worse than the Pack though.
Just not sure because I tend to see it and remember when it hurts the Vikes and not the other way.

And it's tough coming off that Steelers game, but that was pretty much one bad call in my mind that really hurt the Vikes.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

I still marvel that people believe that NFL refs would go out of thier way to carry out a vendetta against a team and to call things another way for another team.

Maybe those people don't watch any other games than Vikings games.

Seriously, go out on the boards, you will see fans from each and every team pissing and moaning about how the refs are out to get them

I am a believer that there are "road team calls" and home field calls".

Quite simply I believe if you are at home in the NFL, the refs choose to lean towards the home teams favor.

If your a great road team and/or Dynasty team like the Cowgirls in the 90's you get the road team calls-since your better or what not.

Just me but sorry this is the NFL which means "Not For Long" when you cannot call games fairly.

I don't think it has to do so much with people thinking that there is some type of vendetta going on, or that the officials are on the take.

I believe it has more to do with some very smart football fans who know the rules and have the advantage of replays and HD TV's these days.
Not to mention a sprinkle of refs who shouldn't be on the field, till they go thru a refresher coarse and brush up on what they think they know.
But yes, the past two games I watched, I thought the officiating was horid to say the least.
Bad Calls, no calls, missed calls and phantom sightings......

What makes it harder to swallow, in most cases, they went against the Vikings and hurt the Vikings more than the Steelers or Pack.

    FACT:
Second half today, I KNOW I PICKED UP ON AT LEAST $4 Offensive holds that where totaly missed or ignored, that would have went on the Packs shoulders.
Worst was an actaull tackle on Ray Edwards by their LT.....Unreal.

And just so anyone doesn't get me wrong, there are plenty of times these so called bad calls or ghost calls go our way, and put us into a better light, and hurting the other team, seen them with my own eyes also.
But these last two games we have been the ones hurt most.

Would their be any change if they were paid better and that was their only job?

In how much team's fanbases complain? Nope.

It would probably make the refs slightly better. Slightly.
