Hey Webby, just a question for you and all Vikings fans

Is there anyway that we as representatives of PPO.org can send some kind of sympathy/get well message to C-Pep and the Vikes? I think it would be incredible for them to get a some sort of message from one of thier biggest fan bases on the web. It's probably not possible, but just a thought since I for one, and I'm sure all of you as well, feel really bad for C-Pep.

I think it's an awesome idea. The only problem would be how to know he gets it. NFL players get so much mail....

We're all pulling for Dante & Orlando as well. It's a nice idea, but would it be wise?

If one or more of those team members or coaches started searching this forum, they could run across such threads as "Should Dante Ride the Pine",
the "Trade C-Pep" & "Dante is the most overpaid QB in the NFL"

There are far too many negative threads of trading players, bashing players, bashing coaches & talk of getting a new QB to replace Dante before he even has a chance to make a comeback next year.

Granted there is a lot of positive stuff posted here, but people tend to remember the negative stuff they read instead of the positive.

That may reflect poorly on our site from the teams point of view.

Personally, I'd hate for DC to get wind of the negative stuff said about him here. He's already seriously injured & feels he has let his team & fans down.

We don't need to add insult to injury.

I'm dead set against if it points back to this forum.

However, if we were to each post a "get well" type message in a thread or PM with each of our well wishes, with our real names & where we are from
& then have someone piece them all together & get that to him, without reference to this site, I'd be all for it.

    (That's one long sentence. Whew!)

I don't know..... I don't think Daunte cares what a few fans think of him as much as we might think. Knowing that it came from a major site like this would be kind of special I think. He had thousands of fans booing him in the dome, what a few people say on here wouldn't shake him up IMO.

Is that a risk we're willing to take? We don't know how he would take it.

Especially as down as he feels right now.

Yeah, but if a QB is so sensitive that he even cares enough to come onto this site and gets upset about what a few fans say about him? He's had thousands of people booing him at once, newspaper articals ragging on him, trade rumors from every which way in the media, but Pro Athletes are tough that way. I think that getting a "get well" message from a huge fan site means more than several letters from scattered fans IMO.

Players do see the board already ocassionally from what I understand....which is why I bristle at people making ignorant and blanket statements without putting much thought into their opinions.

I think a get well from all of us would be nice and I am sure it would get there and with the right understanding. They know some fans are just jerks and they also know there are many out there that cheer for them diehard.

This is a time they need our support, not our smug know-it-all armchair quarterbacking.
