hey Minnesota, I need your help
OK, I'm from Maryland, but don't hold that against me. I've been a Vikings fan for almost 40 years.
Here's the deal. In November 2010, I turn the big 50, and my family wants to give me a birthday present that I told my wife I wanted a long time ago.
The one thing I have always wanted to do before I leave this earth is to see a Vikings game, but I want to see it in Minnesota.
I was hoping for a few suggestions to a few things......
a good hotel to stay at that wont break the bank.
a nice place to eat
a cool place to grab a beer and hang out with some REAL Vikings fans.
and wahatever other suggestions you all may have for us when we get there.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and we will see you in about a year and 1/2

Re: hey Minnesota, I need your help
The wife and I stayed at this hotel back in '04.
We didn't do the package deal though.
We bought our own tickets and took the Light Rail to and from the airport and the Mall of America.
The hotel is within walking distance to the Dome and tailgating if you don't mind walking a few blocks in the cold.
Have fun!

Welcome to the site!
I'm from Jersey so I'm not much help to you, however, there are tons of people on here that should be able to give you any information you need.

At this point, a year out, the only thing I can suggest is that you make sure to come tailgate with PPO.
Webby, the owner of this website, and his boy wonder, Neumdog, have 2 tents and get 4 spots to tailgate in the shadow of the Dome.
All are welcome to join in the party, both pre-game and post-victory.
The comraderie is great and we'd love to see you there.
As I live in the TC suburbs, I can't really offer suggestions on hotels, downtown eateries, etc., but you'll get plenty of that advice in the days ahead.
SKOL!

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Hey Balto,
I will be going to my 1st game at the Dome in October. I'll let you know everything I find out (including the quality of the food and drink at the tailgate) once I'm back.

Re: hey Minnesota, I need your help
Lots of good info on the site.
Just type hotel in the search function and you should find all kinds of stuff.
I know the Iggles thread from last year has lots of hotel info in it.
Additionally, as Z said, a trip home to the mother ship isn't a complete trip unless you stop in and pay a visit to the PPO tailgate party.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
