Matt Birk, Moss & Pat Williams come to mind. None of them wanted to play for our coach anymore. Now one of them is guaranteed a SB ring.
I wouldn't lose any sleep if he didn't come back.
I hated seeing Birk leave. Local boy succeeding on the home team. Doesn't get any better than that.
Henderson may be back with us again. I don't know if any team is going to give him the money he thinks he is worth. He may have to take what we offer him. If we offer him anything.
Coach Leslie Frazier reiterated Friday that he wants free agent NT Pat Williams back with the Vikings.
"I’d love to see him retire as a Viking," said Frazier. The Vikes may have had a different approach had they acquired a nose tackle prospect in the draft. Instead, it makes plenty of sense for Williams to return on a one-year deal.
Williams has received no known interest on the open market other than from the Vikings. New England has been kicking the tires on just about every veteran free agent this offseason, so it's unclear if they have serious interest. According to ESPN's John Clayton, the Pats "might" bring Williams in for a visit this weekend. Tue, Aug 30, 2011 12:29:00 PM
Williams has also drawn interest from the Pats, but nothing has "intensified" there. Carolina could definitely use an early-down run-stopping specialist after losing Ron Edwards for the season. Thu, Sep 1, 2011 06:29:00 PM
Pat Williams stated he did not want to play for the Vikings. Moss didn't want to play for Childress & thought he was unfit to coach in the NFL.Quote:

“Everything’s good. I am not coming back. Going to go finish elsewhere,” Williams texted. “Just don’t trust everybody over there no more. I feel if I got your back and you don’t got my back, trust (is) gone. I play hard all the time, even (when) things (weren’t) good all the time. I never quit on them, but I am always happy and blessed and I wish them the best.”
