Hello, Offense!!!! Nice to see you!!!

I was absolutely tickled today...I finally saw the Vikngs play a complete game this season.

I don't mean I saw all 60 minutes (Crammed into 3 1/2 hours), I mean I saw both sides of the ball show up.

After the opening drive, I must admit, I was a bit worried.
Another field goal to open the game and I thought, "Here we go again".
1 minute and 39 seconds later, Seattle torches us for a TD and I thought, "This could get ugly quick".
Then they went up 10-3 and I saw us driving, all I kept thinking was, "Childress, don't you DARE play this conservative"...and he must have heard me.

When Marcus caught that 40 yarder, I almost fell off the couch.
After all, it was only the second quarter, and we scored a TD!!
On a 3rd and 17 play no less!!!
    FINALLY!!!

When Hasselback went out, I could FEEL the tide changing.
Until it was 3rd and goal on Seattle's 15 and I saw the pitch out...I thought, "NOOOOOO!!!
    CHILDRESS!!!!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!"...and, it would seem, so did the entire Seahawks Defense, because no one paid any attention to Wiggins...until MeMo hit him for 6!!!

After the INT, I was suprised to see Longwell miss that FG, but I wasn't too worried...until Seneca Wallace started getting his feet under him.
I had flashbacks to the previous times we've played scrub, no-name QB's, and made them look like Pro-Bowlers.

Then Chester breaks the 95 yarder...on a play I thought was stopped at the 5.
    AMAZING!!!
    What an incredible run.
The game was over right there...and I think Seattle knew it.
Kevin William's fumble recovery TD was simply icing on the cake.

This is the end result of a TEAM that came to play.
Yes, we had some (too many) dropped balls early.
Williamson was better on the bench than on the field.
And our Defense gave a little more ground than I would have liked (Whitaker got scorched for another big TD...just like the Chicago game).
But, all in all, we played a complete game.

How many others thought that Bethel Johnson was going to take that opening kick off the distance?
How amazing would THAT have been.
As it was, I certainly liked his 31 yard average on Kick off returns.
He may turn out to be a very nice addition to the club.

And Smoot played solid for the second consecutive week!!!
    Atta boy, Freddie!!!

Yes, there will be the usual crowd of detractors - mostly Bears fans - who will point out that Alexander was gone, and so on...but that doesn't change the fact that we won with Offense for a change.
If we can carry that on to the New England game, we will be well on our way to being a legitimate Play-off contender.

Most Sports writers have already given Chicago the NFCN and the NFC Championship.
Well, I have to say, in all honesty, I actually believe that if we bring THIS game, THIS team, to Chicago in December, we can beat the Bears.
And we may not be the first team to do it...they have a hellacious road trip in November.

And we get to welcome them home.
    ;D

    Caine i couldn't agree more.

i missed the opening 5 min (getting things ready for my mom's flight home) but turned on the monitor and pc and saw what looked to be a standard start to the vikes.

down by 7.. moving the ball and having stupid things cause us to have 3 - 17.. i thought.. ahh !#%!#$.. we need to kick it deep and stop um.. then i saw B.j lean back and toss it. to my self i thought.. ahh !#%!#.. he did this earlier and it was almost picked off. then the camera swung over and i saw M.rob over towering a shorter saftey. and i thought.. ohhhhh baby jump!!

when he landed my gf and mom ran into the room to see why i had shouted..

they laughed a lot harder when during C.t's 95 yarder i was jumping and yelling infront of my pc.. lauched off the chair to have the headphones reach their lengh in cord and whip off my head landing in the plate of nachos i had just made.

i didn't care.. nachos tasted great after that run!!

I think sharper was suppose to help over the top
    on that play.
He tried to sniff out a INT on the other side and blew his coverage.

But all in all, our whole team showed up to yesterdays game and it showed on the scoreboard.

    For the most part, yes.
Still got the key penalty inside the red zone - bailed out by the trick play (as happened with the fake FG from earlier this season).
Still can't do much with the right-side of the line.
Still not getting the ball to Wiggins (from Brad Johnson).
    There's room for more improvement.

    That's nit-picky, however.

I love that we're trying new things on offense. West-coast base, with a little vintage Vikes sprinkled in.

Minnesota had 175 yards rushing. Seattle had 53. Yeah, looks like Steve Hutchinson does make a difference.
    lol!

Re: Hello, Offense!!!! Nice to see you!!!

The play with Mewelde passing started to look like Brad was going to settle for a field goal again.
    What a play.
Sure glad he is opening up the offense a bit.

I thought the offense looked better without T-Will in there.

Although the penalties were way down, we still got one in the Red Zone.

    Our Defense is awesome.

Schedule looks good after New England.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
